My mother and I couldn’t bear to hear of this cos when a small innocent baby goes through such devastating diseases it just becomes unbearable for her to hear and me. I would like offer my deepest condolences to the parents who gave birth and tried to save their little baby, may the Almighty Lord keep Charlie happy and cared in his arms.

Common Sense my only hope is this horrible situation made everybody sit up and take notice. If it changes things in the future then is short life was not in vain. They could of had a go,what was to loose? They could of used it to learn and improve their skills set. Big mistakes were made in this situation.

I really dont want to "racebait" with my following comment.
But i somehow have the strong feeling that if it would have been a baby born in the UK, Canada or maybe even Sweden, the respective government would have paid for the treatment and the travel exspenses...given it was born in a "poor" muslim family.
If that would have happend to my son i would have bursted out in tears 20 seconds into reading that statement.
Thats one of the most unjustified death of a baby.
    RIP Charlie

He had a chance, so I'm genuinely curious as to why British law barred a child to a chance at life.

The U.S. doctor offered an experimental treatment for Charlie and claimed there might be a 10% of chance that Charlie's muscle strength could improve. However he failed to persuade both the court and Great Ormond Street Medics that his experimental treatment can offer a lifeline for terminally-ill baby. Also, there are no case for so far that one who is condition as bad as Charlie got treated successfully.

Common Sense Grow up. Socialism has nothing to do with it. US judges issue rulings to terminate life support for similar cases all the time!
Once multiple drs determine that further treatment violates their oath against doing harm, they stop trying to perform miracles, and start worrying about the patient's comfort. And as sick as he was, the medical consensus was that he wouldn't even survive the flight over.
You'd think people would have enough goddamn sense to recognize that his parents were in denial, and just be grateful that the suffering has ended. Instead you're all pissed they didn't drag it out even further!
It's easy to armchair quarterback someone's care, when you're not the one suffering, but the sad truth is, we treat sick dogs with more dignity than a child, and everyone should be ashamed of themself for it.
Drs aren't obligated to cater to hysterical parents who can't come to grips with reality.

Brett Perry time ran out because they had to take egotistical doctors to court, everyday that went by his chances diminished. This has everything to do with socialist doctrine of government involved in every aspect of citizens lives. I hope bureaucracy eats you one day.

Bringing God into this is not helping your case. There is no cure for this specific genetic disorder. Even the u.s. doctor, Michio Hirano (they finally revealed his name) says its not a cure but just a different treatment. The chances for experimental treatment to treat Charlie was still way low.

Only 16 people have been diagnosed with this disease, let that sink in. Please do go and read what the disease is and what it entails. This baby was not viable from the onset, "the government did not kill him", "the doctors weren't too proud", and the U.S doctor at best offered a hail mary.
Based on the disease he had I highly doubt he could be cured at all merely prolong his suffering.

Mr. & Mrs Gard: American hearts cry and mourn with you for your son. We will not soon forget the heartless actions of those in the government who carlessly and coldly, turned its back on your sovereign right to decide what steps should have been taken in what might have been the gracious herculean efforts by specialists abroad to save help him. Heartfelt condolences to you and your family at this very sad moment. May Charlie rest in peace now and may God comfort you.

To the parents of little Charlie Gard may I extent to you my deepest sorrow and please know that God in Heaven will give him all the care and love as if you were with him. Please also know that Charlie and God both know the extent of that love and that despite those who idiotically interfered with your gallant efforts to help your son, you did everything humanly possible to keep your sweet son alive. God will handle those who practiced being gods, you can be rest assured of that.

In the UK you have no rights what so ever when your child is on life support. My best friend is Jewish and they are against shutting off life support. They believe that as long as the heart is beating they are still alive. This is not the first time nor will it be the last.My prayers to all who were robbed of their decision making

Really so saddened to hear this news. That the High Court and Great Ormond Street Hospital think that they have a right to say what the parents can and can't do. They are his parents. I am disappointed in the medical and legal teams and process but I won't condone hostile and violent behaviour towards the hospital and staff. Rest in peace sweet little Charlie +

So sad that government would be so intrusive into peoples lives that you have to fight in court the right for your child, who has nothing to lose,to receive treatment arrogant government doctors deem unnecessary. God bless Charlie. God bless Charlie's mom n dad.Thank God my ancestors left England.

I'm sorry but if I was the father I would be going on a killing spree! I know it sounds sick but you issued my child a death sentence. This shows you the reason why the government should not get into medical issues. And if you don't think so what if it was you not your child but you yourself! What if you had some type of crash where you fell into a coma and you had been hooked up to machines.

There chanting JUSTICE because the British health Care stop the family in a long court fight not allowing them to pursue further treatment. Instead the British health Care system wanted to allow the boy to die without further treatment. In AMERICA we call this form of health Care DEATH PANALS. When you ALLOW GOVERNMENT to control your health Care they get to choose what to treat and what not to treat. Not allowing this family from seeking treatment sealed the boy fate.

Greg C I really don't know what thay can do. But this is a good lesson for American's when it comes to OBAMA CARE. Another good example is the V.A soldiers the served this country dying waiting for treatment.

  • @MiniPainterGamerDadD20
    @MiniPainterGamerDadD20 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Sorry, but I guarantee the father is either mincing words or outright lying about his son's so-called "normal" test results. There is so grounds to say that the highly experimental treatment would have done anything, and most certainly would not have "cured" him. This kid was pretty much doomed from the start and had the treatment even been "successful", their son would have been most definitely disabled....

I doubt it was a script, he probably wrote it so that he didn't stumble over his words/repeat himself and to make sure he said everything he wanted to. You expect someone to memorise a speech in front of cameras when he's talking about the death of his son. Ridiculous comment.
