    Great video Jake! I hope the Rippa folks take notice and implement your fixes at the factory. Would be nice if they sent you a free attachment or company bling to make up for you having to re=engineer this new machine. I look forward to your next video.

    I just bought one of the smaller 1-ton air cooled gasoline engine models. The exhaust was ported completely outside the rear guard, but it still gets way too hot in the engine compartment. I'm going to try running it with the body panels removed for a while and see how that works out. Also I'd like to add a hydraulic cooler, and that's in the works.

      I have a gas air cooled on as well and added a fan. I just wired into the electric kill switch. It helped a lot

      When he took off the panel I immediately thought, why don’t you run it w/o the panel and see how hot it gets?

      Hey brother. Any updates on. This? I got one of the loaders recently it seems to have a decent oil cooler for the hydraulic system. Looking into getting a one ton unit but I am looking up the oil cooler situation and if that helps keep the temp down any. Also which one did you get? Thanks in advance!

      @@youngprince716 My engineer friend set up a hydraulic cooler and temperature monitoring system on my excavator. It has a radiator and a fan which kicks on at 120F. I've been using the heck out of it and I still haven't seen the temp above 110F. Theoretically the fan should kick in, but I haven't personally seen it yet. I've asked my friend for a list of parts he used and I'll post a video about it ASAP. I recommend everyone who gets one of these immediately remove the engine shroud, as that will get you a long way towards cooling down the "hot seat" condition. But the hydraulic fluid still heats up very quickly, and I'm sure that's not good for the components. Overall, it's been the best tool I've purchased all year, and it's already paid for itself. Nothing has broken or gone wrong so far. There were a few fittings which needed tightening, but that's not a big deal in my book. They're really sturdy little machines, especially at their price point. Highly recommended. Check Richie Bros auctions, they always have a bunch of them for the best price you'll find unless you want to deal with importing one yourself, which is a PITA. They're all pretty much identical except for the paint as far as I can tell. Also I added the hydraulic thumb attachment from eBay and that's going to be a great investment as well.

      @@jakebell1947 I had installed two fans and it ended up draining the battery while I ran the machine. Turns out the charging stator only produces 9 amps and I had two 80 watt (13+ amps total) fans going. So just a fyi for anyone looking to add modifications to the mini's.

    Great Video. Did you just add 1 fan on the machine? How’s it runs now? I am in Arizona it’s hot hot hot here

    Never wire a fan thru the switch for the machine. The switch needs to go to a relay which takes the actual load of the fan. Don't want to melt your switch. Very easy to do.

    I recently got one of these diggers, the hydraulic oil level on the little bubble is below the red dot, but the tank is full. Does anyone know if this is normal ??

    • @jakebell1947
      @jakebell1947  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The tank should not be full all the way to the top, take a tape measure, and measure down from the top of the tank to the red dot. Drain fluid from the tank until you can measure down inside the tank from the fluid to the top of the tank and have it match the distance to the red dot. Chances are the gauges completely full and maybe you’re looking at an air bubble? It can be hard to tell. What’s there when a site gauge is filled all the way to the top.

      @@jakebell1947 thank you. I’m going to try that later today. I will be using that machine at a job site and want to make sure oil levels are good.

    you should hire a tech for these fixes.
