Agricultural efficiency is one of the important methods of measuring in Thematic mapping. In this video, you can learn about how to calculate agricultural efficiency following S.S.Bhatia`s method for any region. Without agricultural efficiency, you can not understand for the degree to which the land is put to best utilization. The students and researchers can use this method for the preparation of a research article or project report for an analysis of agricultural development in terms of efficiency and productivity and also showing the agricultural productivity, agricultural efficiency and its measurement of any district or state or for the whole country. Besides measuring the level of efficiency and productivity, one can find out the major controlling factors of the overall agricultural system. Anyone can make some suggestions and management plans to enhance the agricultural output in terms of yield as well as money.
Agricultural efficiency is the combined interplay of a variety of factors such as the size of holding, land ownership, structure and type of farm market structure and techno organizational structure such as crop rotation, cropping pattern, irrigation, fertilizer and mechanization. The combined effect of these factors manifests itself in per hectare productivity as well as the volume of productivity in a given area. Thus agricultural efficiency is directly related to the agricultural production potential. It is the coefficient of agricultural production per hectare of land for agricultural productive capacity and hence APC (agricultural productive capacity) is the product of agricultural efficiency and land productivity.
