In this video, you can learn about the rank-size rule and how to calculate the expected population of any city in relation to the largest city. It helps in the interpretation of the relationship between rank and population size of settlements. It helps in analyzing the settlement networks.
The rank-size rule is an empirical observation based on the study of actual population statistics. If towns are arranged in order of size, the population sizes of cities in some regions are related. Basically, the population of the second-largest city will have half the population of the largest or primate city, the third-largest city will have 1 /3rd population of the largest city, and so on. This relationship between city population and its rank order in a set of cities of a region is called the rank-size rule. It was given a firm footing by G.K. Zipf in 1949. This can be expressed by the following formula: Pr = P1/r where Pr is the population of the rth town in the series 1,2,3 ... n in which the towns are arranged in descending order of the size of the population, P, is the population of the largest or primate town, and r is the rank of the towns if the largest town were of a population size of 1,00,000 (P1), then the second-largest town would, by this formula, have a population of 50,000.

    According to the book of Majid Hossain, the crop land percentage less than 1% , will not consider as a crop land area in crop combination,so in this video , police station A must have 2 crops to calculate the combination,later 2 will not be accepted as they have less than 1% cropland, plz explain it if I am wrong.
