Ok, du Barry avait 18 ans quand elle est arrivée au cours du roi Louis XV. Maiwenn a 47 ans... Naturellement ce portrait n'est pas exactement authentique. 😄 D'ailleurs elle était beaucoup plus gentille, chaleureuse et discrète que la manière dont elle est présentée dans ce film (dans la majorité des films sur cette personne et cet époque). Les auteurs/ directeurs / actrices créent souvent cette image intrigante, manipulatrice et béotienne, ou encore moins stupide. Néanmoins, il a l'air intéressant et je me réjouis de voir la retour de Johnny Depp sur le grand écran du cinéma international (Excusez mon francais, s'il vous plaît 🙈).
Elle n'avait pas 19 ans. Elle est nee en 1743 et arrive à Versaille en 1768. Maiwenn ne s'en tire pas mal pour une femme de 25 ans. Elle a étudié durant 2 ans la Du Barry donc elle sait qu'elle était blonde, jeune etc. Regardons et apprécions plutôt l'aspect cinématographique.

Of course, Pitt himself is actually pretty good at different languages and accents, as he's proven in multiple films, e.g., his Patois in Meet Joe Black). His part in Inglorious Basterds was just the hilarious caricature of an American GI. 😂

The director cast herself in the lead role of Jeanne du Barry. She is far too old and horsey looking for the role, not young and beautiful like the portraits of Madame du Barry.

All of these women were essentially gold diggers. They were willing to throw aside their dignity and spread their legs in order to gain money and power, until the guy tired of them and bought in a replacement. If there was any love involved in this, it was almost certainly one sided and temporary.

I agree. Anyone would have been a better fit. And why are Du Barry’s costumes so mediocre compared to everyone else in the film? Just what I’ve gathered after seeing different scenes.

She is indeed not the prettiest...but well, maybe she wasn't...after all...who really knows!

C'est fait exprès ? La phrase : "vous êtes en train de découvrir le côté sombre du roi" 01:37 et un black apparaît à l'écran.
e trouve qu'il n'y a pas d'émotions authentiques , aucun personnage saillant, on a vu des dizaines de fois des sènes analogues tournées dans la chambre du Roi, rien de très original . Il y a de très beaux plans intérieurs et extèrieurs mais le tournage excessif de scènes eclairées par des bougies devient vite lassant ( Quand il y a eu Barry Lyndon...on ne peut faire mieux...) surtout si comme pour moi, dans la salle de cinéma où j'ai vu ce film, la luminosité des images est insuffisante,. Ces dernières présentent peu de contraste, restent ternes manquent de détails dans les ombres. Par ailleurs j'ai eu l'impression de voir un film en noir et blanc, dans lequel le faste des costumes et des décors devient fade, sans couleurs. Je pense que Maïwenn s'est fait plaisir en s'attribuant le rôle de Jeanne du Barry, et elle a bien raison, en revanche son talent d'actrice n'est pas mis en valeur dans ce rôle. Quant à Johnny Depp, il n'avait pas un rôle tès difficile, un visage sans expression, sauf quelques moues..;où sont le dialogues?..;silencieux pour la plupart du temps...Benjamin Lavernhe est le seul pour moi à marquer par son talent certaines scènes du film.
