I love the Delta Wading Jacket, and underneath it, I wear the Sitka Ambient Jacket with a Sitka Merino shirt under that. The Ambient Jacket is an amazing mid-layer.
Man thanks for sharing the content and your time ,video was very detailed and very helpful. Looking forward to see more duck hunting Sitka gear set ups.
I wanna get the jetstream in that feel it's looks better for deer hunting than the optifade and jetstream allow ya a wider range of temps depending what ya layer with
In late season when its 20-30 degrees all I EVER need is a longsleeve shirt, my military waffletop (same material as the core midweight zip tee), and my Sitka hudson jacket. For bottoms I just wear a cheap pair of thermal long johns and my Rogers Elite 2 in 1 insulated waders. Keeps me warm even on the coldest days. Although if it's reaching 0 degrees and extra windy out I'll throw on a divebomb airweight jacket inbetween my waffletop and hudson jacket
Sitka waders are the best piece of duck hunting gear I own. Super comfortable, durable, and the boots are the most comfortable out there. The core light weight hoodie will be my next Sitka purchase .
I just got my delta zips and man I cant wait to use them!! the boots are the most comfortable I have ever worn! its like wearing my most comfortable shoes!! I rock the core lightweight hoodie as well with the dakota vest to.
I wish you went more into sizing! I just bought my usual size for Sitka and thinking ima send it back for a size down. I’m 5 10 185# and the xl is huge! Haven’t tried it with my Fahrenheit or gradient cause there at my club but I’m thinking it’ll still be to big! Love your content though keep it up
Good review. Some day I will have the arsenal you have. I have a few pieces now and more to come in time. You gave me a few ideas for Utah weather. Thanks for another great video. We appreciate the good stuff you share. CHEERS

Facemasks are nice for real cold days but I also don't think calls sound the same through a layer of fabric. I.e facepaint is the way to go until mid November for myself. I'm a hot temp person myself.
If you took your beard growing seriously and stopped shaving all the body fur the lord gave you all of these sitka layers would be unnecessary. Just mud up au natural.

Just getting into duck hunting and so far I’ve bought the merino heavyweight half zip, Fahrenheit vest, and Boreal jacket. I’ve been using insulated Banded wader’s because Sitka was sold out but I’m looking to purchase a pair of Delta waders before next season. My question is what is the best way to layer underneath the waders to stay warm since they aren’t insulated? I’m more on the cold natured side.
I just moved from Fresno to Imperial County and from what I hear it is 70 degrees all winter. I’m ready to hunt this year but I definitely don’t know what to expect.
I would highly recommend the Delta wading jacket for rainy days. I bought it after watching the review by mid Valley . It is not insulated so I bought one size up. This way, I can add insulation inside of it on a cold day. I used it last year and it was excellent.
@@stevedyer5902 thanks for this heads up. I’ll go ahead and get one now. Just looked it up and it’s the same price I’ve been paying for my drake jackets. Definitely need something thinner down here.

I should have listened man. Watched this around August this year before the season kicked up in SE Idaho. Bought a 450$ pair of 1600 lacrosse waders. They've got these giant ass boots that my feet slide out of because I bought them online and had no idea how wide they'd be. Hunting in Mudlake Idaho, 3 feet of suck you in mud all the way to the bank, and the suction from the mud mixed with giant boots that my feet slip out of eventually ripped micro holes in the neoprene after 4 or 5 times going out. Just like that 450$ gone. I know you've sent them in since this video, but man I should have bought the waders, even if it was just for the warranty alone (which is apparently incredible?). I have literally everything else that I've slowly purchased throughout the year but passed on the waders because 1000$... learned my lesson I guess.
I know this is about the clothing but I want to talk you bout the decoy anchors you use. You have to try out DUK NUTZ they are tangle free AND depth adjustable!!! Awesome and informative information as usual!!
I picked mine up just prior to season started and have gone out 6 times already and love them. Just picked up the Dakota hoodie also and will love it in the winter here in Montana once it gets 30 or colder
Is your delta wading jacket an Xl? And does it fit over your waders comfortably if it is? I’m about the same size and am worried if I get an XL wading jacket it won’t fit comfortably on the outside of my waders
If you have a bit of a walk from truck to the blind, and it’s 25 or so, are you walking in with gradient pants under waders? Or do you wait till you get to blind then put on gradient pants? I run hot too and have sweat something fierce with my gradient hoody on. Thanks
Unless it is raining, we throw the waders on the cart and put them on just before entering the water. Big difference for not overheating. We wear the mud boots from Muck or Bogs.
If it’s around 25 on the walk out I still won’t wear the gradients cuz I know it’s gonna warm up if it’s a morning hunt. If I am wearing the gradients and it’s a hike I’ll try not to put waders on until at pond but sometimes it’s not an option to pack waders
Ah yes, them hueys in the background. My dad flew them for 2 tours. Shot down 3 times...the third time he ran from charlie for three days while keeping his copilot alive after his jaw was blown off. I know this is weird lol but the biggest reason I haven’t purchased Sitka is the camo pattern. I don’t really care for it. The gear is awesome and is tough to beat if you hunt a lot. How do feel about the camo?
I like the colors, timber and marsh but to be honest I do hate digital camo of any type. That being said it actually blends in amazing when trying to stay concealed
Lol, sitka is great gear but not worth the price. $500 pretax for a wading jacket. $1000 pretax for waders, $100 for a shirt. $200 for a hoodie. If they made a gun it would cost 10 grand. You can get quality everything to get started duck hunting for $7-800. Sitka is like Apple. You pay $1500 just for the name.

Whats also best to put under the duck oven jacket should it be a gradient jacket for temperatures for as low as 20 degrees and lower ?
A gradient works, or even just a hoodie
You did a great podcast with some of this info, but the visual is very helpful too. Good stuff 👍

I have been trying to find people doing this and now y’all did it thank you
Now having the duck oven longer do you still think the gradient hoodie is hotter?
Do you hunt timber with the marsh camo or do you have the timber camo too
I only have marsh
What is your routine for washing your Sitka gear? Do you wear them a few hunts before washing or depending on the hunt
I don’t hardly at all. The only thing I wash after 4 or 5 hunts if I sweat is like the mid weight zip t and anything that is in skin contact
The duck oven is way warmer! The bottom half and the cuffs are made of Dakota hoodie material, and the top is down.
It’s the warmest

Which pattern (timber vs marsh) should I purchase? I will hunting in both environments, and I don’t want to purchase two of everything. Thanks
That’s up to you but if I had it to do over again I’d prob go with timber

Where do you keep shells for quick access with these waders since they don’t have d loop up top?
In my side pockets up top
That first part was awesome. I felt like I was watching the load screen of a duck hunting video game. Hahaha
