I'm not scared of fighting people or losing gear I'm afraid of the literal jumpscares that come from tarkov and loud ass noises like glass breaking and ear piercing gunshots 10 miles away
I swear, everyone should be using a sound compressor in this game. Tarkov is so much better when you don't constantly feel like you're slowly working your way towards tinnitus. Hearing damage is no joke
A bit funny that I slowly started working towards beating my solo anxiety a week or so before finding this video, but watching this helps stay on the right path to beating said anxiety because you put it into clear words that I can remember to follow. I have about 140 hours or so into the game so I'm still very inexperienced, the way I used to play is to hide for 5-15 minutes at raid start waiting for people to die and after enough I realized that it's kind of a sad way to play not because of the playstyle itself but because of the reason behind it (me being scared to run into players). I've been taking baby steps towards beating this anxiety, so instead of hiding the first 5-15 minutes I just night raid and move right as the raid starts (I don't shift w, but I still stay on the move) and it feels rewarding because now I'm actually filling every slot in my backpack and rig vs only getting what people left behind. I'm still not in the ideal place in regards to the type of player I want to be, but I will start stepping it up by slowly gearing up better and better and moving into day raids once my current phase no longer represents a challenge (challenges being something that I seek because that's what helps me learn).
After watching this video as a new player (lvl 18, 200 hrs, playing their second wipe.) and I actually went out and took a MPX into factory and I tried to play more aggressive in my firefights instead of running away and it yielded better results from raids + I ended up finishing up friend from the west late wipe. Thank you for the video.
Sorta same here dude, I'm Lv. 20'sh and 200 hrs but my first real wipe: gotta give something like this a shot and just have more fun w/ it 'cause it is a game after all!
this is so true man, i was playing yesterday and killed a guy but was so afraid of dying i threw on purpose and ran up to loot him and hid when i heard his teammate (or some other solo) rush and kill me while i just lay there. same goes for the gear fear, i always think 'ill use these good guns when im better'. tonight the inventory is getting lost in raid, back to 0 rub 😎😎 subscribed to add to your last point, we only get better when we play/practice at the edge of our capabilities and push the envelope. like piano, if you just practice the same easy song you know you'll never get better, same for EFT if you play really safe and only get easy kills you'll never get any better at pvp. this goes well with veritas video of 'how new players get better' and just going in to factory and PVPing
Amazing write up! You are right, make sure you are always pushing forward and never stay comfortable or you won’t be improving. Good luck with those raids my friend, go out there and kill it. I
Dude its crazy, ive played on and off for a few wipes, amassing about 1500 hours all solo. Even now, after all my playtime, with maxed out traders, maxed out hideout, a stash with over 20mil cash, stocked full with rare items and many complete mid/end game loadouts, i still find myself hiding in a building for 30 min of the raid, just to quickly grab what i can in the last 10 minutes when i know theres barely any players left.
Thats fine if thats what you enjoy! If you want to get into more pvp down the line you can try to stop hiding like 5 minutes earlier at 25 minutes and slowly work your way down. Eventually, youll be john wick!
Great points. I don't know what it is about tarkov but something about not having much time to play makes me overthink and play scared so often. And I feel like I can never see anyone. But on the other hand the limited time should make me want to get into fights and have more fun playing. It's a struggle. Pixels I'm gonna lose on wipe day are holding me back and it's so annoying hahaha. Appreciate the vid you got yourself a sub. Thanks bro!
problem in fear of losing loot is not the idea of loosing loot itself. It's an idea of "I need to be back to my stash, spend 10-15 minutes on trading new gear, assembling same or different gun, carefully staccking my backpack and vest with food, drink, meds and spare ammo, doublechecking it for couple of minutes (not to forget anything), THAN spending another 5-10 minutes to load into the raid, get shitty spawn and fuck up all timings because of this. The BEST way to get rid of solo anxiety is for devs to add fucking presets for gear. You know, preset for each vest to fill them with one click. Equipping gear in stash by rbm (like we fill our mags) and choosing from what available atm. this kind of stuff. But this video idea is not wrong, totally agree with you, I run 2-3 factory raids every day before going to any other location, just to warm up.
@@SillyNetwork I died 3x in a row yesterday to silent Scavs that head shoted me instantly from 10m away.. Not having a great time at the moment😂 Bunker part 1 appears to be bugged for me along with the active D2 bugs going on!
I looked up a hunt showdown guide, and found this instead. Probably still going to help since from the intro it seems like it could apply to many games.❤
For sure this advice can be used for any high stress situation really. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and write a comment when originally searching for a different game! Hopefully I helped.💜
the TH-cam algorithm blessed me with this video right after I talked to a friend in discord about solo anxiety. Kind of creepy, but I'm glad I watched!
I feel like I've got that gear fear right now, but it's more so because I don't want to run out of guns to practise with. In every game I play i rewatch footage of myself, indentify my weaknesses and improve them until it becomes intuitive. The issue with tarkov is that I'm almost punished for making those changes in my gameplay because failure means you lose everything. I get gear fear because I don't know how to recouporate that loss. So this video has given me the urge to just use every scrap of money i've got, do as many raids as I can with the intention of playing confidently, trying out new things, learning from mistakes and hopefully improving all the while intentionally draining my weapon stash and money count. Then at least once I hit rock bottom I can go through the process of bringing it back up, and once I know how to do that i reckon i'll be able to get rid of that fear
Exactly, you nailed it with this comment. If you did hit rock bottom then you’ll be learning how to make good money. It’s a win win for you in the long run, you’ll be a BEAST soon!
@@SillyNetwork I’ve also spent a few solo offline raids simply walking around the map (customs in my case) and seeing where loot spawns. As it turns out I’ve ended up walking past loads of containers without even realising it XD
@@SillyNetwork well I’ve been playing for about 3 hours today. Im running every gun I get and actually getting into raids which is a step up. Im losing money, and not getting very much back but I need to train myself to get used to that. Watching back my clips I’m seeing lots of errors, like peeking too close to corners and not clearing angles properly. But my biggest issues is definitely weapon mechanics in terms of dealing with sight sway.
@@thebulletkin8393 sight sway can be a monster to tackle in this game. Beginner loadouts too wont be as nice with recoil but this won’t stop you for long. Eventually you’ll get the feel and you’ll have one less obstacle in your path. Keep at it brother, you got this.
this is a great video - im struggling to find what my fear is coming from though. im wondering if i maybe get too immersed? cuz i run in like a chad and kill squads but instead of being happy, i have to take deep breaths and try to stop an actual panic attack lmfao. its not gear fear and im playing aggressive but that anxiety is still wild. wonder if anyone else has this experience,
nah i get alot of adrenaline during fights, mostly because i have mindset of kill or be killed alot so i lose my loot 1000% in all survival games, i dont know how to stop my heart from beating fast, maybe get in real fight or something else im really desperate to win a single fight in survival games
1:40 Losing gear doesn't give me Solo Anxiety What gives me Solo Anxiety is that at any point DuYuoTV-PaiGow is going to head, eyes me at any point from across the map with shit ammo, so i don't even get to use my hard-earned gear. I'll wait for all 3 regular players in that squad to pass by, because i know i'll die. It's not whether or not i might, i WILL die. So its not worth the fight. It's all perspective. >Run at the challenges that make you uncomfortable Running at Mr. PaiGow with his no recoil/walls doesn't seem like a fantastic idea and only looks to frustrate
Please don’t take this the wrong way but a lot of what you wrote sounds mostly like excuses to me. I kill 3/4/5 man’s because I try to, and it takes a lot of learnt skill to do that. Cheaters obviously you can’t do anything about but if you keep thinking this way and letting people pass then you will die to every squad you fight because you have no experience fighting them. Now of course fights are always situational and sometimes letting people pass is the play but if you want to get better at fighting you gotta start fighting. Again all love, just my opinion! Thanks for the comment 😊
IDK, in my experience the cowardly rat of tarkov always wins the fight. Wait for the active players to fight then finish off whoever is left with an 8k ruble double barrel.
Let’s say one pmc wipes 15/17 pmc’s on streets and had a blast doing it and the 17th guy got a lucky one tap at the end. Which player would you rather be? Overtime which player do you think would play better? That being said, if you enjoy ratting then all the power to you!
Nah, that’s just a hurdle for you. Time to make some money back and then keep practicing. You are already ahead of most people simply off mind set because you are actively trying to improve.
Soft bodies and soft minds break easily under stress. David Goggins isn't stressed about soloing eft because David goggins puts enough stress on his body and mind everyday so that it doesn't give a fuck about something as trivial as a video game. Do what he does and you won't be scared when you play vidya gaymes
