@CollectathonYT sometimes with pausing lead to cloud just blocking. What I ended up doing was disabling bluetooth from ps5 and just playing wired. That's how it worked for me. Still this minigame was annoying

The hardest part is not reading his attack but how fast his limit fills. A couple of mistakes and you lose.

what worked for me: when he start charghing up basic attacks or combos, pause and watch his head. Based on the height of his head you can tell 100% the attack
I used my index finger to press pause when he slightly moved his arm. I then read his pose and put my thumb ready on the analog. I then unpaused and immidately tilted the analog in the corresponding direction. Hope this helps.
To some extent you need to be good at the games. Chocobo race you need to stay away from him when he’s red, just get out in front and lead. The green chocobo with the more speed ability and the rough rider ability worked well. QB let him win one lane and put a midgardsormr and tonberry king in the other two. Then use lots of replace or debuffs to destroy cards. Reduce his score in the lane he wins, with debuffs and things and don’t put any high cards of your own in his lane as he’ll take those points too. He should score 20-30 and you 50-60. GBike go slow, focus on getting every blue coin and save your big attack until there’s lots of bikes around you. Space invaders you have to get good, use your missiles and focus on killing everything before it escapes and not taking much damage. You don’t need the barrel role. Arena you need to equip either karmic cowl or safety bit on all 3, and have all 3 with revives and healing. Use 2x focused thrust when the cactuars use needle rain for instant stagger. The cowls should make the tonberry fight easy. Use ice attacks on the Zu. For the frog and jokers focus down one at a time and keep health up. The last boss is easy. Cloud barett Yuffie worked well, you want some ranged attacker at least one.

You should only need this for the red/fast ones and even then you can memorise them. If you can’t do it then maybe just don’t do it lol no reward in cheating like this. Where’s the fun?
Funnily enough his combo is actually the easy part because it is predictable. The problem is making 2 mistakes in any other part is enough for you to lose. This is a way for people who don't want to spend several hours on this to get the trophy. It is not multiplayer so it doesn't matter. I think even Square patched some of the minigames to make them easier.
This and the infinite retrys in Queens Blood tournies has to be the scrubbiest things in this game. It makes you feel like a loser even when you nab that eventual W.
You probably did it now, but for next time, turning off the sound really helps with the gym games. Did in remake and probably will in the next one too. Do it in silence, just the noise your controller makes will help you.

I think many people can tell from his arm movements but can't react fast enough. Pausing helps with reaction.

So, are you only pausing and unpausing? Or are you queueing up the dodge during the pause also?
You can hold the direction while paused and then unpause while still holding the direction. The game will instantly register the input.

Yes that works too but sometimes if you move too fast then it turns into a block instead of a dodge

I like most of the minigames in ff7 rebirth but 3d fighter can F right off. I cant even figure out the third fight let alone anything else

Sometimes he blocks instead of dodging. It think it is because you press either too early or too late.
