And if a maniac came in and had a gun and we couldn't get away, and someone I worked with got hurt like that I would stop at nothing to make sure they were compensated and understood that they are a part of my life, even if that process took years. When he came back home and said 'I'm done', I was so happy for him for getting to that place after planning and planning a revenge. Finally he let go of the anger and returned to his life... this family is amazing. And I was so anxious as they kept interviewing his wife alone, I kept wondering the entire time if they had split up at some point, and that last moment where they're together on the beach, that was the happiest part for me. They truly all healed as a family and managed to stay together and live a good life despite what had happened.

They were failed by so many that should have had their backs but instead of holding on to bitterness due to that fact they continued through life always having each other’s backs. Just the simple fact that John couldn’t even allow himself to go under until he heard his family was safe despite the tremendous amount of pain I’m sure he was enduring speaks volumes.

@Jo Pearson Um, at that point in the story, they had not even revealed that he had not died in the end. However, I agree that it was very obvious he was not a corpse since he was at the hospital having surgery, which they said. But the Vardy may have been thrown off by them all talking about him in the past tense during that part of the story. I suspect the writers did that to throw us all off and make us think he didn't survive until they were ready to reveal that he was still, in fact, alive.

My husband and I have been married since 2001. We have been together almost 19 years and married for almost 18 of those years. I was 17 he 19 and we welcomed our daughter when I was 19 in 2003. We are each others rock and have had many ups and downs over the years but would and will never give up on each other. He still curls up on my lap and holds my hand. Real true love is real true love.

I was shocked how well he healed and looked so great... but I am sure the mental damage of what his family went through was harder than the physical aspect..

I commend the wife for her commitment and love to John. She didn’t leave him. John is such a brave man. God bless you and your children’s children!
