Texas has mountains (Guadalupe Peak is 8751 feet), the 2nd largest canyon in the U.S., (the Palo Duro Canyon), beaches, forests, rivers, lakes, 4 large underground caverns, and the huge pink Enchanted Rock in the Hill Country. Ten percent of Texas is desert, 44% of the state is flat, and 38% is forested.

Houston is worse than San Antonio for humidity but yes SAT is bad also, Dallas Fall and Spring last about a week or 2 for each if that. Dallas (city of) has become dangerous IMO. Was never like that until the last 8-10 yrs. Traffic is really bad now. Amarillo can get very cold. Everyone in the world moves to Frisco. Takes forever to drive a mile there. Also a very big state, roads are bad meaning pot holes and such. All major cities are liberal, Austin being San Francisco II. The outskirts are very conservative/right leaning. The coast/beaches are not anything like Atlantic/Pacific. In Rural areas you might see someone riding a horse to the store. Go west, lots of open private land

El Paso has the best weather in Texas, and you did not even mention it (I stopped the video at 3 minutes). Houston is much more humid than San Antonio and is much more unbearable in the summer - I used to live there, and I also lived in Austin. Nice that you showed my alma mater at 0:15 - Rice University.
I sold my property in Texas and moved to California, and I now have a house near the beach in Los Angeles and a house with a pool in Palm Springs. I've been in southern California since 1989 and only visit Texas for funerals.

The heat really seems more intense in DFW in the Summer time June July and August I believe because all the rooftops here and no breeze Houston and San Antonio, Austin have a breeze that helps as they are closer to the coast look at the record highs among the big cities in Texas it’s actually at DFW at 113 and last Summer was 110 one day San Antonio, Austin and Houston don’t really get that hot. But with that said in spring and fall San Antonio Austin and a Houston can reach 90 more often than DFW like in March, April, May and October, November since DFW will have more cool spells in the fall and spring. And also you just go 30 minutes south and west of San Antonio you will reach 100 more often in south Texas and you go 30 minutes north and west of San Antonio and 30 minutes west of Austin it might not ever reach 100 some years in the Texas hill country it’s really a tad bit more mild. Houston may not reach 100 every year but it will feel every bit of it if it’s just 85 just from the humidity but the breeze will help down there but in the wooded areas up north Houston maybe not so much but at least you got shade but that air in Houston is thick almost all 4 seasons and 30 or 40 down there will feel frigid actually like 10 or 20 due to being such a wet cold. In DFW specially east of Dallas will be more humid Rockwall and Forney so tempertures could be more milder less cold/hot just more humid and west of Fort Worth Weatherford Hudson Oaks Granbury is generally less humid so tempertures could be more cold/ hot than the metroplex at times. It can snow every year just 30 minutes northwest of Fort Worth
But southeast of Dallas it’s very rare and extremely rare for the other San Antonio, Austin and Houston but these can all get ice that can cause power outages more frequently.

    • @movingtotexas

These are some interesting points, I haven't really considered. I felt San Antonio and Austin felt more hot because of the humidity, but it could have just been the time of year. Thanks for sharing!
