Why is there no direct recording to SSD on the X-H2s? I am still surprised that the flagship and video-oriented X-H2s camera does not have a direct recording to SSD feature. This feature has become a standard today and even exists on smartphones. In addition to the much more reasonable price of SSD compared to CFexpress, direct recording to SSD also has other advantages. This feature can make the workflow much faster and more efficient and even provide higher stability than CFexpress.
I appreciate Johnnie asking those questions! I think it shows Fujifilm that there is a HIGH interest in a Fujifilm cinema type camera. If you build it, they will come! Global shutter, internal ND’s, 7-stop IBIS, PDAF, UHS-II or CFexpress type B card, and a 24mp APS-C sensor with high ISO please!🙏🏼
@@LodelleM I don't think we need global shutter. The RS on the xh2s is already really good, and might not be worth the dynamic range and cost sacrifice
The reply when he smiled and said “it might change tomorrow” about the cinema camera not being in the pipeline yet. I feel like they are def working on something but don’t want to reveal their cards yet.
Hello there! As an unofficial brand ambassador of Fujifilm, I must say that when it comes to innovation in cameras, Fujifilm can do anything! The Fujifilm X-H2S is capable of producing film-like videos, and the new Fujifilm GFX100 II is awesome in terms of video capabilities. I enjoyed watching a video featuring two gentlemen talking with the anchor, and I must say they were quite humble. I am a regular viewer of this channel and I appreciate the anchor for always bringing up meaningful topics. The anchor even gave the guests the opportunity to share any final thoughts, which they graciously accepted. Lastly, I wish the anchor had asked about the upcoming X-Pro 4, but overall, I loved the conversation and would give it full marks!
Its great that Johnnnie had access to Fujifilm, I wish he went into more detail on the development, testing, implementation of features to come to the xh2-xh2s platforms. I personally think the Xh2s is capable enough to make it more "cineivised" by a few more firmware updates as well as a release of bottom grip/ vertical grip/ breakout box giving us just a few more features. Namely: a DTAP input/output , genlock timecode (not the bluetooth which I currently use after the last firmware update but via dedicated cable either via usb or 3.5mm jack or BNC in the grip) Phantom powered full size XLRs and a 3.5mm line input with 32bit float recording (essentially a zoom F3 built in) the ability to transfer files full speed via USB-C to SSD directly either while recording or offloading the onboard media. Pass through full size HDMI would be the cherry on top! Build in ND's are awesome but we have a platform already that does almost everything already. This attachment could be more on the back utilizing the fan attachment mounting( also incorporating the fan) so the body doesn't get any taller, put a ton of attachment threads on it, a few rails and some arri rosettes. Make this design universal to the XH line so we have the confidence that future models can use it as well. Hell I'd pay a fair penny to "unlock/ cineavise" this camera. $800-1500 would be a no brainer for this accessory. Build it with a v-mount plate on the back, now we have a Komodo for under $4000! Looks like Red has not been successful on stopping Nikon from producing its own compressed RAW so if we could add that with this accessory now we have crazy capable camera using bodies that have already been engineered. I use this the xh2s full time on a variety of projects and I can say confidently that if we had these other features, a purpose built cinema camera would not be so necessary and it would be a great stop gap for the shooters who already have committed into the Fuji system.
CineD you are doing a good job to interviewing the camera makers no one does this on You Tube. I like how Fujifilm is open to give this interviews. Keep the good work.
Interesting video and thanks for it. Gotta love fujifilm for communicating with their fans🤩 Alittle brotherly tip, when interviewing 2 people it might be an advantage not to sit in the middle to constantly look to the sides for eye contact. A bit disturbing. Anyway, thanks again😊
Hey RohamBroccoli. In this particular video, in terms of setup, there was no other sitting option, believe it or not 😉 (And thank you for watching the interview)
FUJIFILM CINEMA BODY IS THE QUESTION WE BEEN WAITING TO DEATH! WE WANT IT!! X-H2S Stack Sensor in the Cinema body accepting GF and X mount lenses or Global Shutter in cinema body with XF mount... that's all we are asking for. Fujifilm got the best color science next to KODAK film stocks and ARRI color science.
I recently did a shoot with 2x FX6s as my main cameras and my XH2s as C camera. Side by side I much prefer the image from the XH2s. Really hope they make a cinema camera eventually and do it right. As much as I love the XH2s, it’s still kind of a buggy mess and a pain in the ass to use for video. I would happily volunteer to be one of their testers on a new camera. They would end up hating me, but I wouldn’t hold back my opinions. If they listen to me they will have a great camera on their hands 😁
I thought I was the only having issues with XH2s 😅 Between the autofocus and the screen freezing up at times. Good to know I’m not the only one. And like you I wouldn’t mind testing one out too 😎
YES TO FUJI CINEMA CAMERA. That should be a Priority in my opinion. Make a Cinema LINE (XC?) please, with a series of cinema cameras from compact budget to higher tier. XH2s stacked sensor as the foundation, with OLPF, and perhaps even a GFX sensor cine cam in the line as well. Let’s go let’s go

Also why Fujifilm hasn't developed a focal reducer for GFX-X is beyond me. They could be selling their GFX lenses to a whole other market and fixing this complaint by people that Fujifilm doesn't offer a full frame cameras simultaneously while selling more products. We all could get so many gains from this and I feel this would push more 3rd party manufactures to explore GFX options in the future. If my math is right there should be about 10mm of available flange distance between the the GFX and X mounts to accommodate this.
i hope will never see fujifilm doing a cinema camera since that would bring the hammer of cripple on the kaizen principle and would cripple their cameras like sony and cannon are doing. let's go fuji ,stay on track!!!
The previous x100v model is better in many aspects. First of all, the new model is produced in China. Unfortunately, years of Japanese craftsmanship are not available in this model. You can understand this even from the power button. Unfortunately, I sold my x100v model camera and bought the x100vi model. Apart from a few software improvements, there was nothing I didn't like. Unfortunately, I couldn't get one tenth of the pleasure I had with the previous model. I am really sad.
Make lenses with internal ND filters -- just as there are leaf shutter lenses . I'm pleased to see expansion of production in China. China can act as a bulwark against the totalitarians of Wall Street.
What do you think about Fujifilm’s take on Johnnie’s questions?

These Cine D interviews with companies are the best!
FUJIFILM have a chance to go crazy with a medium format cinema camera.
That would change the game
With proper lens lineup, absolutely
Would be so dope. My GFX II has been fun to use for video.
Medium format global shutter 💥
That would be interesting

He keeps a very good poker face once the question of the Cinema Camera gets asked. Good to hear that there is a chance. Hoping 🤞🏼
