for sure! I think they were going for a "Friends" styled theme, after the kids went to bed on TGIF night I guess this was supposed to be something for the parents.
It was a victim of circumstances. Just the Ten of Us was canceled for this show and fans were not happy with losing that show and took it out on this show@@The_Retro_Sitcom_Network
At least some of these actors were on hit shows after this failed. Heather Locklear Melrose Place Spin City Alan Ruck Spin City the one lady forgot her name was in 2 and Half Men and Staci Keanan Step by Step.
Despite earning decent ratings as part of ABC's TGIF block and frequently winning its time slot, that show was abruptly cancelled in the spring of 1990, due to ABC wanting all shows in the TGIF block to be packaged by Miller-Boyett Productions, as was the case with fellow programs Family Matters, Full House, and Perfect Strangers.
Im guessing the only reason this didnt last longer is there was no kids, ... all tgif sitcoms that were successful at the time had kids/a family dynamic
They added kids at mid-season---J.D. Daniels and Christopher Castile---and the ratings improved. The only reason the show didn't get renewed was because "Baby Talk" got even higher ratings in the same time slot.
I forgotten how funny and great this show was. Just good clean fun. God bless!!!

They would also be standing behind the Lubbocks from Just the Ten of Us, which was sadly cancelled to make room for this show.

The boss is Charlie's Mom on Two and Half Men.
And Gloria from Romancing the Stone.
This seem like a good show not to take off.
