    Tsuwano is a town located in Shimane Prefecture, Japan. Tsuwano is also know as Little Kyoto of San-In.
    Famous for its beautiful traditional Japanese streets and fish that live in the side water gutters. Unusually, Tsuwano is somewhat home to two Catholic churches. The Catholic church in Tsuwano itself is dedicated to Saint Francis Xavier, who visited Japan as a missionary in 1549-50,
    In this video I explore the incredibly beautiful Tsuwano town, check out it's famous fishy residents, explore an unusual Catholic church and find an extraordinary set of Tori steps that led me to one of the best shrines I've ever explored.

    Thank you for posting about Tswano! It was my FAVORITE city to visit when I lived in Japan. I loved that the Koi follow you walking down the streets.

    Wow Nathan, what an absolutely wonderful video! Obviously, you couldn't go wrong in this location Tsuwano and you were blessed with the serenity of the rain. I love how colors POP in certain kinds of rain! This time I really noticed how good you are in this art form. Your choice of music, camera angles and speeds, editing and oh, filming through the stained glass! Well, it just really came together (for me, anyway). Going to watch it again, right now! 👏

      Oh I’m so glad! I think Tsuwano was definitely a find and I will recommend to everyone! It’s kinda small and could probably be done as a day trip but I kinda liked staying in the quiet small town to switch off

    You can have a day trip to Tsuwano from Yamaguchi-City. You can travel on the local JR train through some beautiful countryside. There is also a steam train that runs, hopefully it will be running again once Covid is under control here.

    • @NinjaMonkeyguy
      @NinjaMonkeyguy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually saw one of the steam trains, And you are right, there were some day trippers coming on the train. I'm actually glad i spent the night in this quiet town as it made for a great break from the cities I had previously visited.

    Great job with the video , interesting to see those beautiful fish in the street if that was here in the UK they would not last very long sad to say . It looked a beautiful place, liked the steam train nothing quite like them they have a heart I think . Nice vlog as always

    • @NinjaMonkeyguy
      @NinjaMonkeyguy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think those fish made the whole place feel a little bit unreal. This was one of those moments where the rain enhanced the atmosphere and made the whole place quite magical. Steam trains are cool! I’ve read that you can travel on one in that area so I might just have to return one day!

    oooh i wished i could hang out with you while you visited tsuwano :) i live in singapore but i come here every year or so. seldom foreigners would choose tsuwano as a place to visit, so mostly only japanese people from neighbouring prefectures. hope you enjoyed this little vibrant town!
    for people interested in visiting tsuwano, my dad owns a little humble traditional inn "Satoyama Minsyuku" that is along the stream that runs through this town. he is apt in speaking English for a native countryside Japanese so he can help you out if you have any troubles navigating around.
