- In this video I show you how to remove and refit shimano caliper pistons with out separating the caliper body.
caliper shown is M820 saint!
What you’ll need
1. Cheap syringe ( filled with water )
2. Tube for syringe to bleed nipple
3. Cut bleed block
3 something thin & flat to refit Piston
Note: don’t forget to fully flush caliper with brake fluid to clear water. Failure to do so could cause some serious problems
and how you bleeding it that you got again perfect Breaking power? My piston Fell out and now After the bleeding process the break is spongy and not good
Great video. I'm searching a solution to take out the piston from my old LX hydraulic caliper. But since it's a 2 pot system, the "cut-out spacer" won't work for me. Anyways, it was helpful, maybe i'll need this knowledge for maintaining my other bikes. Cheers!
On my old deore 2 pot i connected the intake of the caliper to a floor pump with tat baloon adapterand pushed air until the pistons started moving. After that I imobilised one piston with a tire lever and started pumping air again
Very helpfull vid made it look easy.
Great vid you can use zip ties also to tie around the pistons to remove one. This works better but. I’ve got a new caliper leak so will be doing this again this week 😢
Did you fix your caliper leak?
Cheers pal. Saved me about £90 buying a new one. All it was, was a bit of grit behind one of the pistons.
Good as new now.
Thanks for the great tutorial.
