      I c for room acoustics u can adjust bass and treble ,but y not mid range . That would be so ez to add . I don’t like its Chinese manufacturing . McIntosh makes one for quite a bit more money that’s made in USA or the people’s republic of New York . A CD player should have been added . A cd player that would slide out between the slots of wood on the front . Kinda hidden . It’s very beautiful . Kinda mid century . I like the remote and the controller on top of the unit . I like the screen . It is stunning . I don’t think I know of anything like this that is this beautiful.

      Not to happy, just boaght the R410 and the RS1 sub woofer, the sound is so, so!
      the biggest dissapointment is that it is made in china, the marketing would suggest it is UK made by passionate audiophiles, I bought it on style & British manufacture, Somewhat of a let down, most likley go back and return it and buy a Niam Muso-2, half price and its made in the UK..

    I was going to buy an R5 before Christmas 2022. I never got round to it and now I’m glad I didn’t. The R410 has absolutely blew me away. I ve absolutely no use for a CD player and the display on the R410 looks amazing. Will buy one this afternoon.

      I couldn’t agree more. The screen and overall design on this unit is fantastic! Please feel free to get in touch with our customer service team who will be happy to help - www.av.com/contact-us

    I have the R5se and personally prefer the look of my unit to this, i think the display on the 410 looks like someone has glued a smartphone to the front panel which jars with the retro look of this unit and dropping the CD player is a real shame but seems they may have improved on integrating the bass frequencies better, also hope they have solved the noisefloor issues that affected the R5se where an audible hiss is always present on the speakers with no audio playing which means the unit is useless for talk radio stations or even quiet passages of music where the hiss is quite noticeable, that should have been solved on the R5se unit before releasing it.

    Looks great and i would be snapping this up if it had a cd player but iv just bought the R5 instead, i think this is a mistake by ruark, streaming is massively popular but physical media is on a massive rise again with music enthusiasts so i think they are a few years late going full on straming, to me if there was a + version with a upcharge which included a cd drive that would of been a lot better, i am guessing the R5 will be the last Ruark with a drive so i will be sticking with that.

      Hi Paul, thanks for watching our video and for commenting. I will pass your feedback onto our contacts at Ruark. I think your points are reasonable, and certainly the lack of CD Drive was quite a surprise to us when we first got our hands on the product. However, i think perhaps Ruark have identified that there is a large number of people who will never use the CD Drive on their R3 or R5 units and have created a product that is focusing on the capability of streaming while improving the overall sound quality of the unit. Ruark has ensured us that the R410 is their best sounding unit to date, and I would very much agree with that. So, whether or not there is a CD Drive in the unit, it is very different from the R5 and there are a lot of reasons to look at it. I like your idea about a + version though, I think that would also be really great to see!

      Hi Paul, thank you for your feedback and for purchasing our R5. We agree with @avhificinema and R410 is a different product which sounds fantastic, we would recommend having a listen if you can. If you'd like to listen to CDs with R410 you can do so by connecting an external CD/DVD rom to it. As soon as you plug the device in, R410 will recognise that a CD is connected and display this on the source list and you can then control its function with the RotoDial or remote exactly as you would an inbuilt player. I hope this helps.

      I agree 👍 Also a R5 user. Yes I rarely play my CD's on it as they are stored downstairs in another room to where my R5 is plugged in. Unless it's something in particular that I want to play from my collection then I am too lazy to go searching through my CD collection and so will likely find and stream via Tidal instead if it is available. Still glad that I have the option of in-built CD player though.
      If I had the extra money then I would still be interested in the R410 and would move the R5 downstairs. I would then sell the Bose Soundtouch 30 speaker that I moved back into my lounge when deciding to uave the R5 upstairs.
      That would be nice but would mean that I'd need to spend far less on running Marathons around the world 😂

      @@MarkSmith_Best-Athletics Thanks for commenting. I think you've described a scenario that a lot of people find themselves in who still have a physical media collection (CD, Vinyl etc). While there are times when you want that tangible experience of physically putting on a record that you love when you are in the mood, most of the time it is easier to access the same album via streaming services, with little to no down side in terms of audio quality - especially when making use of hi-res streaming services like Tidal and Qobuz.

      @@AVHifiCinema I do wonder how long it will be before we no longer see CD players until CD's really make a comeback as has been predicted. That's why I bought the R5 but this R410 looks like a nice bit of kit. That extra bit of space that having no inbuilt CD gives all-in-ones often allows for a slightly more powerful system with slightly better sound. That's why I opted for a Bose Soundtouch 30 over a Wave System years ago.
      Tidal really does sound fantastic on the R5 and you can't notice much difference from a CD. Tidal through the Bose speaker doesn't sound a great deal better than the compressed Spotify. I nearly always play Tidal through the R5 but still use Spotify for the functionality of the App, especially while out running (used Jaybird Vista earbuds and now Bang & Olufsen E8 Sport). I have to play Tidal on the R5 through Ruark's UNDOCK app which isn't the most intuitive.

    How does it sound? Maybe one audio test, together with a similar product, to have at least some idea about its possible capabilities?

    is it possible to connect it with the r5 for multiroom?

    • @AVHifiCinema
      @AVHifiCinema  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Unfortunately, the R410 cannot multiroom natively with the R5 model. There are ways to make it work, for instance you could connect a network streamer that supports AirPlay 2 & Chromecast like the WiiM Mini, to the phono inputs on your R5 and that would give you multiroom functionality between the two units. I hope that helps.

    It's not nice that they have dropped the CD player.

    • @IainLambert
      @IainLambert 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s not ideal, but they’re suggesting that £20 worth of external USB drive will work with it. Would love to see how that works in practice, and find one that both looks appropriate and is good quality, but it will do for occasional use (like, until I’ve walked over to the PC and put it in my lossless network library).

      Slot-load CD player that these devices may feature, is a horrible CD player.
      It will damage the disk sooner or later, leave marks on it. Get a proper tray-load CD, and connect it via the ports on the back. That's what LP fanatics do with their LPs anyway.

      Or, rip the CD into some good audio format, load onto the USB stick and play from there. .

    Awful product, riddled with airplay bugs and the hissing from the speakers is unacceptable for the price!
