I've had problems with animals getting impacted especially in winter when they won't always drink enough. Nowadays always soak kibble to capacity as it swells a lot.
@@davidtaylor9562 it’s chicken mince that we buy frozen . We defrost the tubes over night so it’s ready for the next day. We buy these in bulk a box of 40 which works out about 85p a roll. Hope this helps. And thanks for the video of woody
@@directdogs1584I went to a raw diet of minced raw meat a while ago for my buddy. And when I feed him, the food isn't fully defrosted, I leave it out for about 3 hours. It was suggested to me, when I changed to raw, to feed it as frozen but I couldn't see how that would be preferable to my dog or even if it was a healthy method. My dog is 15, I do not want him to have any issues that can be avoided, especially at his age. The reason it's not fully defrosted is because in my minds eye I thought he may prefer that the food has slightly more body to it, with it being minced. I wanted to ask if you are aware of any issues involved with the food not being completely thawed on a regular basis.
@ we are not aware of any issues but we do always defrost ours overnight so it’s fully defrosted when they eat it. Hope this helps and glad to answer any other questions
@@directdogs1584it was worth asking just to see if any problems were known to you. I may start taking it out in the morning instead of 12 though.(I feed him at 3) I would imagine there's more taste when fully thawed. Thanks.
@@directdogs1584oh, actually I do have a question. Where do you buy from? I'm paying about 1.90 for 454g with no discount for quantity. I'm in Scotland, near Edinburgh.
