GSP has said that regardless if he is fighting or not, he will continue to train until the day he dies, because it's his life. So I wouldn't use that as a giveaway that he is still preparing for Khabib.
Test cuts with his weight is a bit more than training. GSP WILL always train, yes, but will he always train to be fight ready or just to stay in shape? There is a big difference
@@bobt9948 His weight cuts was not intentional as for getting in fight shape. His weight cuts were result of an intermittent fasting treatment he began for health reasons.

There is no doubt that GSP isn’t as quick/strong as when he was in his early thirties. But is he in good enough shape to give Khabib the win without an asterisk. That is the question we are all asking. I think the answer is yes, if GSP and Khabib sign on the dotted line, part of the deal has to be understood that this is for legacy. If khabib wins, barr it being and very contested decision then he is the GOAT, and if GSP wins then there is zero question of whether or not he is the GOAT, if he wins at 40/41 then GSP is the pound for pound Greatest Of All Time...
I think the only people not wanting to see this fight would be Dana, and possible Khabib fans scared of Khabib losing his flawless record. Well besides his Khabib’s mom. But even Khabib’s father wanted to see Khabib fight GSP. In many ways it Khabib’s father would have been a great cornerman for Khabib against GSP because of the fact that Khabib’s father expressed admiration for GSP in the past and as such would give Khabib very grounded advice against GSP
One reason i think it is even more less likley to happen now is GSP gave away his game plan on Rogan. Which seems like the actions of a fighter who at least in their head has given up the idea of it ever happening.
And besides said this many times, Dana hated GSP, and no one hold grudges or showers opportunities on fighters like Dana based on how he felt about you.
If he liked you like Masvidal, Conor, etc then he will give you championship fights ahead of other far more deserving fighters and use the full UFC media operation to turn you into an mma god/star, but if he disliked you for a grudge he was holding the chances of you getting a big fight is zero. Not many promoters are as biased and hold a grudge as long as Dana... and GSP upset Dana when he left saying the UFC needs to bring in proper drug testing, before ASADA, after that Dana almost had to bring it in, and when GSP didn’t come back after he did i think that likely upset him more.... which is why Dana said GSP vs Khabib would never happen even back when it made even more sense to happen...
GSP is simply an incredibly disciplined human being.

@@someperson1576 GSP has good explosive wrestling, but he doesn't have an example of chain wrestling anywhere near as good as Khabib. In a freestyle wrestling match where there isn't much ground work, GSP could certainly do well with his blast doubles. In a cage where the idea is to submit and the ref isn't going to stand it up after 2 seconds of inactivity... I'm taking Khabib all day.

@@mford4mf GSP was NOT a big WW, he was usually the smaller fighter, except when he fought Serra and Penn (talking about title fights), other than those two fighters, GSP was smaller than his opponent. He just looked bigger b/c he was carved out of granite, but he only walked around at 188-190lbs MAX. Most guys at WW are over 200lbs.

First and foremost, GSP doesnt train everyday like how he used to. Even if he does, its not because he is training in case the fight v khabib is made. He trains bevause as Chael says, he is a true master - has nothing to do with fighting khabib. 2ndly, what DC said was just highlighting what others already know. The reason why ppl have taken what DC said is only because DC is khabib's friend and they trained together. Dont forget, DC is not coming and saying he JUST spoke to khabib and this is what he thinks. No its not. DC is coming from a place where he knows khabib as a friend and feels like the next fight for khabib is v gsp. This is very clear. 3rdly, GSP has said, either on Ariel or Chael's channel - right after khabib retired, that he isnt intending to fight khabib, he just retired, he just lost his father, it would be disrespectful to call him out and etc. Even if theres some hint of negotiation, GSP said he will never fight khabib at 155. Why? Yeah why shld GSP drop weight? Why cant khabib gain? If it does happen, its gonna be a catchweight.
But i leave you with this - by the time khabib clears his mind...enjoys retirement and etc...which he has every right to do...gsp will be too old to compete. GSP trains everyday. He's the best athlete in mma, ever. Don't compare him to a 40 year old with a dad bod. Cutting to 155 for him is easier than than the bulking up he did for a proper 185 build. That actually caused him problems. Anyway, big GSP announcement tomorrow. My guess is, it's Khabib in 2021 for the 155 belt. He doesn't fight without gold on the line, and he's talked about challenging other champs since his first title reign, when it was unheard of.

He knows his fighting style will not allow him to dominate easily if he fought at WW. He won’t be able to take guys down that easily. I’m not saying he’s not good but for him to really be considered GOAT he should move up to WW. That’s where his real competition is. Most GOAT fighters like GSP or even conor have fought at WW. And George is also not stupid, he knows he would be weak at 155 because it's not his optimal fighting weight. People lose fights when they cut too much weight too fast. No power and stamina.
