Financial abuse can actually be very serious and can go in two directions--giving or taking depending on if the abuser is rich or poor--but the end goal is to create dependence so the other person is unable to leave the relationship. For example, I worked with a client once who was with a rich abusive partner. He let her move in for free (from across the country), gave her a vehicle, paid for her phone bill, etc, all under the guise of kindness. Then, he became physically and sexually abusive. When she started trying to leave, it was difficult because he had created a web of dependence around her that kept her trapt. No money, no job, no vehicle in her name, minimal friend base because she moved, etc, all because she believed the man had her best interest at heart. In the inverse, I've also had clients with poor abusers who create dependence the opposite way; stealing, refusing to work, not paying for anything, etc. In the end, the abusers goal is to make it so that it is extremely difficult for the other person to leave even when the decide they want to do so.

I get the physical abuse and that's clearly wrong, but the financial part is her fault for becoming dependent on his money not his fault for giving it to her. I wouldn't blame my employer if I was an idiot didn't have any savings and then they fired me and I ended up in a tight spot, why should it be different in a relationship? No one can force you to be dependent on them (except for kidnapping or other clearly illegal stuff), it's a choice you make. Or you can accept their support but still make sure you're able to stand on your own in case they decide to stop.

They also conducted a poll in association with an online dating service that confirmed black women and Asian men were the least desired partners, this is according to poll approx 5 years ago. It caused massive offence.

Maybe now black men are marrying more black women but this lady was correct, approx 5 years ago BM were marrying more Caucasian or Latina women. That was an actual FACT , a statistic.
