In the Netherlands, traditional Calvinists refuse vaccines and social distancing

- In the #Netherlands, #Protestants make up around 16 percent of the population and a small group of traditional Calvinists are opposed to #vaccination and social distancing. Most of these believers, who live in a region known as the "Bible Belt", were never vaccinated as children and are opposed to the idea of injecting sickness into a healthy body. Despite surging case numbers, they continue to attend Sunday services without face masks. But amid some of the country's highest Covid-19 infection rates, some of them are starting to shift their mindset. Our regional correspondents report.

I am a Calvinist Protestant, my predecessors became Protestants thanks to missionaries from the Netherlands during the colonial period, and until now my family is still growing in the Calvinist sphere. By the way, in my area, Manado, until now the Calvinist church which is a Dutch heritage is still the majority here, because of the Dutch influence which is well intertwined with the natives.

Our church never stopped onsite Sunday service during pandemic, and thanks Jesus that we all are fine.

@Slavic Melodies I remember reading somewhere that they have the highest birthrate of any community in the country. Probably because they've all got 7 kids. So, it's not an unrealistic idea.

Temple?? In in The Netherlands we do not use that word at all, we use church. The word temple is often used in France in the protestant communities and sometimes also in the USA.
