Ahhhhh, THAT would have been great advice in the manuals! Thanks for explaining! In the checklist in the manual it says "ENGINE IGNITION Selector Switch | A or B, or A&B" Could you correct that to explain that only the engines on the associated sides will start?
@@miltechsimulations Excellent, thanks! You're welcome! I guess I'm probably one of the last individuals left to actually read manuals, but I guess there's got to be *some* resource for those who will eventually make the youtube tutorials most people will be using, right? ;-)
I have nooo idea, it was really strange for me as well, especially since on the hud it is the other way round again in this release while on the devs own videos the hud is also inverted.
Thanks for featuring this aircraft Em, it's one of my favorites. I wish a developer would make an enhancement pack for the C-17, tweaking it for realism and enabling it's party tricks such as the ability to deploy partial reversers in flight for tactical descents, realistic cargo ramp speed etc.
It works really well by now. Sure, still things to change but once a flight has loaded it's a much better experience than 2020. You can find the manuals for most default aircraft here: www.flightsimulator.com/aircraft-manuals/
Not any time soon. Waste of money and effort in my opinion. A plane we already have in study level form for an outdated simulator and at an extraordinary price? No thanks. Did they at least include some malware again?
Sometimes one has to ask though who decides which information is strategically so important that it has to be classified. I mean what is an enemy going to do with the knowledge of the performance data? Build their own C17? ;)
Thanks again for another great video! Can't wait to give this one a go. Are you using the cockpit mouse free look in your setup? It's probably the only thing that's not really working well for me in 2024.
What a brilliant Video, I love your commentary. Clearly evident you are a professional. I loved the comment "It would be nice to have a First Officer". But seriously I wonder would it be possible for the Devs to include this update a some point. First time watching your channel, brilliant.
When I looked at the Cargo Bay layout I couldn't help but realize that the Cargo Bay in Mass Effect , and how it is connected to the rest of the ship is probably inspired by the C17. That aside, this really feels like McDonnelDouglas design. The way the cockpit is designed or the sound of the warnigns are very reminiscent of the MD-11.
I was flying to Ramstein yesterday from Lakenheath. I did some highway training landings nearby (A81) with the Indiafoxtechno f35 (Such an amazing aircraft). I was really glad i was able to find the Ramstein Air Base scenery since it was sadly removed from a certain website. Knowing the airport was developed in 2021, this is a true masterpiece. I've been waiting for a good C-17 for a while now because it opens doors to so many military airbases around the world including some International ones like Memphis for example. I haven't flown the C17 in the game yet so I'm really happy that you, my beloved flight sim reviewer takes a loot at it. Seems to be a very good base with some rooms for improvement. I'd like to see a more worked out EFB and i find it very sad that the aircraft is encrypted so we can't add different cargo loads, a cockpit with more wear and tear like they did with the PMDG 737/777 and it seems like it's very hard to create a livery for the C-17 or the A400. REALLY hope this will change in the future. Miltech has provided us with some really cool deveIopments like the aircraft carriers. Emanuel, I'm happy that you are a contributing part of the MSFS community. I've learned a lot from you. Keep up the good work!
Looking at the relationship between the FPM and the nose position (W) marker in the HUD. Either the hud is wrong, or the fight model is very bad, the way the FPM stayed locked together with the nose position looked like its flying on rails
Thank you, Emi, I was looking forward to this one. Lovely aircraft, but seems to need to a lot of work, as at the moment its just another MS (via Miltech) half finished product. MS seem to be the new EA to me, just release loads of broken content without really fixing any of it.
Hi A330, I'm a huge fan. I'm just curious: How do you familiarise yourself with different aircraft quickly and easily? You seem to know where everything is so easily. Thank you, and keep up the good work.
Hi, all aircraft follow a certain logic in their cockpits. And they all fly in the same physics and have similar systems (they all have an electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, flight management, etc.). Therefore, once you have a general idea it’ll be much easier to get your head around these planes. From there on I practice the flows a couple times and that’s it. For a plane like this I typically keep the manuals ready at hand on my iPad in case I happen to forget something on the go on the first few flights.
Enjoyed the flight. Very disappointing to see devs pushing out unfinished products, like this. Still, I enjoyed hearing, and watching a real commercial pilot working through the flights with these aircraft models, such as they are. Thanks for the video. :)
Thank you! I don’t think they had much choice to be honest, if the MS marketing machine says “you release that day” then you release that day, no matter what.
I thought about doing that as well but then again I want to keep the default bindings and get used to them as much as possible so that when people ask me how I do xyz I can simply reply with the default bindings and don’t have to look the name of the function up (which most people probably wouldn’t understand anyway).
I like you trying different things 😁. Maybe if you have time ,the platius 22 would be great. If they fixed it yet anyway. It's the twin jet platus the one with the air ambulance. Thank you for all your videos as they have taught me a lot
Hello Emanuel, There are some indications incorrect. The engine page shows N1Mode in blue and below the N1 value in green. This only should happen when the reversers are on. During normal flight instead of N1Mode, you would read the EPR value in green color and on the line below you wouldnt see the N1 values. It would be blank, you wouldnt see the N1 values. The RA should have the rolling numbers effect. Same for all engine parameters, like you can observe on the fuel flow indicator. That has a rolling number effect. But in my opinion it is the best simulated C-17 so far. P.S. The FMS is called MSN or Mission Computer.
@@A330Driver I dont use DCS. I have observed these things and red some of the rarely documents in the internet. Unfortunatly there are not many infos availible for C-17. Also no FCOM. How do you walk around the aircraft. I can't figure it out and either get seat or external.
Hi, from the VC use Shift+C
Wonderful trip!

Indeed :)
Okay, so on a serious note... why is the speed tape opposite of most normal airliners? That's just so weird.

Can you activate reverse thrust in flight like the real bird?
There are plans for that but not for now as MS code doesnt allow for jet engine inflight reverse

I think the reason why takeoff performance is not coded in this aircraft is the classified nature of this plane as it is still in service
