Anoushka is a real talent, not just a pretty face. I met her father once quite by chance while walking to a small concert he was to give w/ Alla Rakha & his Son. I passed this open door and standing inside just opening the lid of his Sitar case was Mr. Shankar...he was wearing black and white and silver, his hair was then black and gleaming, his black eyes and the colors of the of the Sitar and it's purple lining of the case is a scene I will always remember. It was like looking at a beautiful jewel. I was able to stammer my gratitude and appreciation for his wonderful music which he acknowledged with a smile, I then left him to himself.
If you think she is a Goddess, you should've heard her dad live. The King of Gods. No player of any instrument anywhere in the world matched him. (BTW his other daughter is Norah Jones.)
The violinist is so awesome, normally I don't like the violin for ragas... Great concert, Anoushka harmonizes so perfectly with the violin, ... Superb.
Such absolutely excellent music. So great to hear, but where’s the full version at? It just cuts off abruptly in the middle of their playing going to the applause at the end
Anoushka is so versatile; drawing ever so close to her Sita Maestro Father the great Virtuoso RaviShankar's skill. Matching versatility is the violinist Joshua Bell's excellent percussion to keep with the Chime of the Sita notes. Great Combination in this composition. Roy seems to sound out in his tabla-need to come in more for our tabla loving ears. ThankYou team

Before listening I've wasted most of my life after western classics. I was wrong indeed. ❤❤❤ The question that begs for a kind consideration is, "How great was her father?" The only comparison that can drawn between western and eastern geniuses is most probably between Ustad Ravi Shankar and Dante Allighiery. That too if my spelling is correct. I'm not sure though. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
