Very true about Filipina wife. Learn to have full control of your own finances. Also, learn how to say NO, or say, I will think about it.

I agree. Should even if you come without a plan make sure you have money to fall back on and you have to go back to your country to prevent going homeless do so. You can always come back once you're back on your feet.

I planned to move out of America at age 62, retired, and I had a woman friend that proved reliable in a Country that I did thorough research. She found my rental which I paid a full years rent. Research is a requirement, especially economic, political, and environmental research. I spent a whole year doing my research not just on one country but multiple countries on different continents. Arrived in March of 2017, married in September of 2017. So over 7 years now. And we have property which I own exactly half, we've picked a design fir out modern home.

If your going to buy a place and put in your girlfriend or wife's name you need to also make a 20 year lease where she is renting to you for 100 pesos a year and prepay the 20 years. At least your in the drivers seat for 20 years.

Remember, if you are Married, you have so called marriageable rights to ALL property gathered in the marriage. You just have to get a lawyer and it might take a while especially if you can prove she was at fault. If you are not married, you might not have any rights but SHE, your filipina girlfriend does. it's best to act swiftly so that she can't sell it if you are married. I'm not a lawyer and don't have any experience in this but I was listening to a video about Marriage Rights in the Philippines.
Also agree with you on planning before you come to the Philippines. At first, your videos looked like they were hap hazard in thought because you were saying JUST DO IT. MOVE without thinking, JUST DO IT. Now you are saying have a plan before coming here which is the RIGHT way to do it. Too many vloggers on low budgets are enticing and luring these low budget expats to the Philippines to their own catastrophe. No money, low budgets=YOU DIE HERE if you don't have any back up plans. There are no Philippine govt safety nets for POOR foreigners. Do not come here to the Philippines if you can't afford medical. Most older foreigners are Walking Ticking Time Bombs for Medical emergencies. Don't be that foreigner begging on the internet or on the streets in the Philippines.

My wife is an RN. She bought a house in the Philippines before I met her. When we married, I finished paying for it. It is completely furnished and she pays property tax on it annually. We live in the states now and the house is vacant when we are away. Her brother takes care of it.

The house is coming along nicely, Steve. 👏🏻 👏🏻 In ZC they charge an arm and a leg to barely any work on houses. How is it out there? When I shared a work quote to one of my British colleagues, he asked if it was the bill for a year.😆

The U.S. consulate really can’t do much. They can arrange an emergency flight back to the states if you have no other option. You have to pay the money back and your passport is flagged until you do. You won’t be allowed to leave the country. Keep an emergency packet of money and cheap burner phone in a safe deposit box at the bank while you’re overseas.

Each Country is different concerning marriages. Here, you have to make a choice, weather you will marry more than one wife, 😉 or remain with just one wife, also you have to make the decision at that time if you will share your income, property, belongings, 50/50. This makes it easy for the Justices to decide if a divorce dies happen, but their main concern is to save the marriage, so the Justices will not be allowing a divorce without a lot of professional council. In other words it us not easy to divorce once married. And if a divorce is granted usually the property is split 50/50. So know your laws on marriage, getting a woman pregnant, the responsibility you will have legally! It is your responsibility to act responsible as a foreign resident in that Country. If you want to be a playboy choosing a decent wife by her strengths is key to being content and safe. Her Family matters, that also has to be considered. Here traditionally you pay a bride price. 👰‍♀ is she worth it? Can she cook? Does she have her own income, and is she morally clean? Especially if she is many years younger, my wife is 18 years younger than I am. If you just want young sex you will suffer the consequences of that lifestyle!
