      No you can't, it's not a loquat or a mango, it's a maprang or marian plum 😉

    seasonal. It's also known as Maprang. The tree takes about 15 years to mature and fruit, height between 20 to 25 meters. Yes, skin is edible.

      this is terrible news.. i planted a maprang plant about 2 years ago i bought at a rare fruit sale and is like 3 ft tall. i was looking for info on when it would start fruiting and this comment hits hard 😔

    • @SuperModerngranny
      @SuperModerngranny ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rayikaikin if your tree was taken from air-layered branch of a mature tree, it could flower and fruit much sooner than grown from seed. I read that scarring and regular pruning on top of flowering fertilizer from time to time can also encourage flowering. The flowers would have to be hand pollinated in order to produce fruits.

      Yes they are loquats they grow wild in Bermuda, but this is a different loquat the seed is huge and the inside has a stringy, mango texture. The loquats in Bermuda have a smaller brown seed that sometimes splits in two and the inside is more like a kiwi's inside.

    I have found out that there are no regular mangoes.
    What is regular to me is exotic to someone else, and what is regular to someone else is exotic to me.
    US store baught mangoes are not regular to me, because i don't know what tree they came from, so they are an exotic species. The two mangoes that i classify as regular in my country are Gatie, aka: green gage or black mango. And Hardy mango, aka: hairy, or stringy mango.
    I've seen people come to my country and find them to be extremely exotic while i couldn't care less about them as long as i can find something different.

    Bouea Macrophylla is the marang, also called plum mango or Marian plum.
