- Humans and demons are two sides of the same coin, as are Assiah and Gehenna, their respective worlds. The only way to travel between the realms is by the means of possession. However, Satan, the ruler of Gehenna, cannot find a suitable host to possess and therefore, remains imprisoned in his world. In a desperate attempt to conquer Assiah, he sends his son instead, intending for him to eventually grow into a vessel capable of possession by the demon king.

Just know, everything before the kraken episode is canon. When you reach the kraken episode, close the video and head to the manga. The animtion studios really messed it up
To be more specific, the anime skipped an entire important arc and went straight to the kraken episode. Even in the kraken episode, they removed an important demon that lead to more character development. They then decided to make what should have been before the kraken episode season 2, but as a flashback. So just watch until episode 10, and when you're at episode 11, start reading the manga.

Actually, the Kraken episode in the anime is completely made up. The Kraken episode came out in June 26, 2011, while the Kraken manga chapter started at June 2, 2012. You can actually watch the Kraken episode just fine since it's completely original they are 2 completely different stories. You should stop watching the anime at episode 14. Since from episode 15 onwards, they started changing the story HEAVILY.

Loved Rin and Yukio.. the catish demon gave Rin someone to help focus on while trying to maintain, IMO. the sarcasism was so rampid that it was hilarious at times.
