I was part of that large choir they added for the "No Time At All" track. We assembled on the upper West Side. Incredible does not even begin to explain how that afternoon was. Stephen Schwartz was so impressed with our harmony that he wrote a new ending on the spot for the recording. Our picture is in the CD. Incredible experience.
3:40, that's what you call rock-solid chemistry between two gifted performers. That can make or break a show, and it was a gift to see Matthew and Patina in person play that out.
This might be the one and only time that I’ve found a revival cast album to be superior to the original cast album. There’s just so much phenomenal singing happening here. Especially Patina Miller - she’s simply stunning.
I agree!! The original was my first Broadway show (after Ben Vereen left the), then my daughter’s first show with this cast…so much better…Patina Miller was electrifying!
Saw Pippin in April in NYC and it was beyond fantastic. Andrea Martin literally stopped the show with a standing ovation in the middle of the show with her number. I'm ready to hop a plane in the next half hour to go see it again and again! Hope it sweeps the Tony's. I am playing this cast recording video too many times!
i would KILL to watch a pro shot of this show, unfortunately i didn’t know this show existed until a few months ago (although i am in a production of it as a part of the ensemble, but fastrada is my dream role 🥺🥺)
Absolutely brilliant. I can't wait to grab a copy and drive my family (wife and son) insane when I play it on a continuous loop for years the same way I did my Parents and Sister. The original cast was the first CD I ever bought myself and this version will be the first one I buy my now 16 month old son. Thank you!
My *high school* staged Pippin when I was a sophomore! I had seen a number of musicals before, many of them classics, but there was something incredibly magical about seeing Pippin for the very first time. I was utterly entranced! It's my most favorite musical ever, and I go to any and all productions near me. Chef's 💋
Yet another amazing video look at this incredible cast, recording something so so special. The energy, commitment , joy, creativity, talent of cast, musicians, orchestrators, writers, team work jumps out at you from the screen . I am in total awe......and SO wished family UK could have been there ! Just seen after 24 hours, its #1 in US soundtrack download chart.....and even #6 in UK. Yay !
Of course not I find this one to be far better due to the sheer amount of passion I sense from these artists. Like Terry Mann just yes I love that man more than I should and Andrea Martian as the grandmother I love her so much. Matthew makes a far better Pippin and I love Patina's range for Leading Player.
I watched this for like the 30th time and i cried watching it. I want to see this show so so so bad. It just tells a story that feels to me is my story and I hold it dear to my heart. I just love it. Hope I can see this show someday.
OMG watching this was amazing. I was so happy when i got the album the day it got out that by the time came around my parents told me to turn it off because it had been playing all night. I love this cast album so much makes me want to see the show even more.
Seeing this Friday evening during our annual anniversary (41st anniversary, this year!) week in NYC. Also seeing Kinky Boots Wednesday evening! Can't wait!
Alyssa B because in the book they need to get a new actor for Pippin each time the show is put on, because the grand finale involves the actor playing Pippin to jump into a pit of fire. There’s also a joke in act II as to how many years Catherine has been playing her role, and that she’s almost too old for it.
What with the massive sing-a-long starting at 2:58? Are all those people on the sound track or is just a cute thing that happened at an event? Someone tell me, I'm curious.
O-M-G the guy playing Charlemagne is incredible. he could do Gilbert & Sullivan any time. and - maybe he has. whew! way out, man. lol the actress playing the lover is really good. she sings with more gusto than the original - whom i always found too sweet.
Does anyone have even a small clip of Andrea performing "No Time At All" in the show? Its all anyone is talking about and I want to see it and I live in Chicago!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
Couldn't disagree more. This version is a product of its time, just as the 1972 version was a product of its. The songs themselves are timeless and that's what's magic about it. A new generation of fans is humming along to the same melodies that people were in the 70's.
I saw this tour, I don't remember them being miked It's a mediocre show with a remarkable opening. It loses steam real fast. I also saw it in the '70s and the although the new production is by far the better one, the music is just boring - lots of trite lyrics about eagles soaring - if that sort of thing is for you, this is your show

Youuuuu lucky ducky!
Wow! What fun! I was smiling ear to ear just singing along in the audience…Andrea Martin was superb!
Omg they included my favorite Pippin song, Morning Glow. SUCH a good song, and no one ever talks about it. I love it so much.
You aren't alone in this! I saw all eight performances put on at the college I taught at in 1979, and this was one of my favorite songs as well!
Everyone talks about it all the time
@@tupeuxpasteification LOL

Pro tip: you can watch movies at Flixzone. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.
I agree!! The original was my first Broadway show (after Ben Vereen left the), then my daughter’s first show with this cast…so much better…Patina Miller was electrifying!
Matthew's voice is a DREAM on Love Song.
Morning Glow gives me chills Every. Single. Time.
How Stephen Schwartz has never won a Tony award I'll never know.
I love the moment when everybody starts singin in „no time at all“😍

I would pay a disproportionate amount of money for the pro-shot of this.
i would KILL to watch a pro shot of this show, unfortunately i didn’t know this show existed until a few months ago (although i am in a production of it as a part of the ensemble, but fastrada is my dream role 🥺🥺)
Patina: 1:29
Me: **dies**

I was lucky to be apart of the No Time At All recording. So. So Special And Awesome!
Hi this was the greatest show I have ever seen and I love Matthew James Thomas voice and Pattina Miller what a great inspiration in life xxx
sometimes I wonder if all those hours of singing and dancing lessons are worth it, but then I see these sort of videos and realize that they are.
Stephen Schwartz is friggin brilliant
my favorite musical, saw it in a local theater. wish I could see it on broadway :,)

GOING TODAY THE SHOW I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL! CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
Is it blasphemy to say I like this version better than the 1972 version?
Is not blasphemy, just the truth. IT IS better! :)
Of course not I find this one to be far better due to the sheer amount of passion I sense from these artists. Like Terry Mann just yes I love that man more than I should and Andrea Martian as the grandmother I love her so much. Matthew makes a far better Pippin and I love Patina's range for Leading Player.
It's SO MUCH better than the 1972 version. I was lucky enough to see the revival. It was PURE THEATRICAL MAGIC!!!
No, you can like it different. That is the problem today, it has to be one or the other. You can like both the 1972 original and this version.
Nope. Brilliant addition to add the acrobatics.
I watched this for like the 30th time and i cried watching it. I want to see this show so so so bad. It just tells a story that feels to me is my story and I hold it dear to my heart. I just love it. Hope I can see this show someday.
Fantastic!!!!! I am so sad I missed it's appearance in Tampa! I would have paid any price if I had know it was going to be this good!
I got the cast album the day it came out!! i love it so much. its just amazing
help i'm obsessed with this cast
OMG watching this was amazing. I was so happy when i got the album the day it got out that by the time came around my parents told me to turn it off because it had been playing all night. I love this cast album so much makes me want to see the show even more.
My favorite show ever
Just finished putting on this show, probably my favorite Ive ever been in. Ill never forget it
Please please release the DVD of this version! I'm hoping you secretly release the one with Kyle!
thanks for making it, great recording!
Merry Christmas Eve 2018. This is marvelous! Great piece of musical mastery!
Finally saw Pippin Saturday evening...and it was the best show I've ever seen!
I've watched this at least 50 times
I love this musical
hope they film it and put it on dvd!
Patina Miller is a goddess!
Seeing this Friday evening during our annual anniversary (41st anniversary, this year!) week in NYC. Also seeing Kinky Boots Wednesday evening! Can't wait!
best musical ever.
that's so special!
someone buy me tickets to see the spectacular showwww!
Awesome.
Seeing Rachel Bay Jones in this confused me bc I always think of her as Heidi Hansen 😂 but MATHEW AND HER ARE AMAZING
Saw the show...it was a maxing everyone go watch it!!!!!
WOW!
Definitely Andy Richardson from Newsies in the front row at 2.58. Just saying.
ya
now we need a karaoke/instrumental album!!
Ahhhhhhh I do those hand motions too when I record haha
Why does Pippin look 20 and Catherine looks like 45?
Alyssa B because in the book they need to get a new actor for Pippin each time the show is put on, because the grand finale involves the actor playing Pippin to jump into a pit of fire. There’s also a joke in act II as to how many years Catherine has been playing her role, and that she’s almost too old for it.
That’s the point of her character.
Oh my god Matthew James Thomas
OMG!! Pippin looks just like Winter from Winter Woods at 5:59. It's a character from a Webtoon written by COSMOS and VAN JI. Wow...
i looking if i find the music "on the right track" perfect!!!!
if anyone kwon pliz give me the link
Thoughts on this new Pippin?
Anybody know how I can stream this musical? It's one of my favorites and I wish I could watch the revival again.
Two people haven't found their corner of the sky.
Maybe!! But.....have you seen Book of Mormon??? We're seeing Pippin this Friday evening and can't wait---but BOM--that's a breed in itself! LOL
What with the massive sing-a-long starting at 2:58? Are all those people on the sound track or is just a cute thing that happened at an event? Someone tell me, I'm curious.
They invited people to sing for the album!
In the show, the audience is asked to sing-a-long with the cast during the chorus. I think they were trying to mimic that :)
Everyone on this video is indeed on the track "No Time At All" on the cast recording!
this is gonna be fun lmao
O-M-G the guy playing Charlemagne is incredible. he could do Gilbert & Sullivan any time. and - maybe he has. whew! way out, man. lol
the actress playing the lover is really good. she sings with more gusto than the original - whom i always found too sweet.
Uk
King George in You’ll Be Back, and if they included millions of people in the crowd 2:56
Was that Andy Richardson in the front of the crowd during no time at all?
Two words: electronic enhancement
Pay attention to around 2:58 fpr the blonde lady in the red sweater behind the man in a red baseball hat....
Left side of the screen.
2:58
Who plays Katherine I can't remember?
Madison Pisano Rachel Bay Jones, she's currently starring as Heidi Hansen in Dear Evan Hansen
Does anyone have even a small clip of Andrea performing "No Time At All" in the show? Its all anyone is talking about and I want to see it and I live in Chicago!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s on TH-cam
Show me the beast…
4:08
the 1 disliker must be tone deaf....
only to watch the dancers and Granny.
Over-produced, the magic is gone, feels so commercial like a Disney animated film. Listen to the 1972 version, where the heart of the show is.
Couldn't disagree more. This version is a product of its time, just as the 1972 version was a product of its. The songs themselves are timeless and that's what's magic about it. A new generation of fans is humming along to the same melodies that people were in the 70's.
Yeah, nah.
I saw this tour, I don't remember them being miked
