Very elaborate sets for a high school production. Good orchestrations also. I know there are Rights reasons why they cannot, but I really wish High Schools could record and post their productions. There is serious raw talent out there and most of the world will never see it.
I loved this performance SO much, and I had a lot of free time so here is time stamps for every song in the show! 3:45 START 4:10 Rock Island 9:25 Iowa Stubborn 14:50 Trouble 21:28 If You Don't Mind My Saying So 25:30 Goodnight My Someone 27:45 Columbia, Gem of the Ocean 32:35 76 Trombones (35:40 (dance interlude)) 41:40 Ice Cream/ Sincere 46:25 The Sadder but Wiser Girl 50:00 Pick-a-Little 52:13 (add) Goodnight Ladies 52:55 Marian the Librarian 1:07:00 My White Knight 1:11:40 Wells Fargo Wagon 1:17:40 It's You 1:19:25 Shipoopi 1:27:57 Pick-a-little reprise 1:30:30 Lida Rose 1:31:50 Do I love you? 1:34:55 Gary Indiana (Winthrop) 1:48:10 There Was Love 1:53:15 76 Trombones/ Goodnight My Someone reprise/ crossover 2:00:59 There was love reprise
*****Wow! Five stars! What a production. Outstanding. Where is RRHS? Glad to see not all of the budget goes to the football team. Anyway, thanks for some excellent entertainment.
If you think this is five stars, I’d be interested to see what you think of the preview of my High school’s production of this show th-cam.com/video/O0CVPwKB9tw/w-d-xo.html
This is an outstanding school production. The scenery, costumes and scene transactions are exceptional. The orchestra was pro all the way. The orchestral cues were right on the mark. Sure, there was a little off key singing but so what; this is amateur entertainment that transcends short comings.
Loved this so much! (Our little theatre group just started this production...and I wanted to see it performed...glad I chose this WONDERFUL RRHS Theatre Troupe!) Fabulous!
Kudos to Mr. Robert Preston's Grandson in the theater! (Just kidding) but whoever memorizes this play and delivers it so passionately deserves to be the Great Music Man descendant. Great performance and praise to the whole cast! Thanks!
One good suggestion: If I was the stage manager of this Music Man production, I would have moved the "Shuppi" number to the ice cream social scene with the cast dressed up.This was done in the movie version.
The stage mgr. does not have the authority to change what the director sets. The stage managers' job is to maintain what the director wants. You can discuss it with him/her but the decision belongs to the director.
You can make them with scrim. If you just paint them and then don't shine the back lights, and they don't take up much of the stage space, so you can set up another scene behind it while the actors are up front. Then bring up the curtain and the backlighting after.
It is possible to make them yourself, but you need fairly capable mural artists to do it. And of course you also will need very large cuts of muslin to paint on.
All I can say is…wow!! This is one top-notch high school performance!!!
As an old High School Harold Hill, all I can say is Bravo! The Barbershop Quartet was outstanding. Well done, young friends...
I was in this barbershop quartet! Thank you!
Raymond Shutt oh, :) The Music Man is my favorite musical :) the 1962 one will forever be my favorite:)
For a High School troupe this is absolutely outstanding!

Fabulous performance.
I want to know the kid who played as Music Man, he is my new hero :)
That Marian does a Beautiful Job in this performance
Amazing!!! My school is putting on this production next year, and this Harold Hill is my inspiration for auditioning for Hill.

I was bout to say that the Stage Manager cannot rearrange the script.
I'm doing the Music Man with my Performing Arts Magnet School on tuesday! This is great inspiration because i am playing Harold Hill!

Great Production!!! My School Is doing It ,I have A show Today, I Play Winthrop!!!
That's a very interesting re-write of the overture.
I really like this Mrs. Shinn she's funny
LOL! this was really good! but i looked up the school, and it's in texas!!! HAHAHAHA
The actor for Harold Hill is awesome!
Very good production. The songs were taken at tempos that were a little too quick though.
... Orchestra got through the overture like a Panzer VI in the Everglades ...
My school is doing it this year
The Shining Pyroar same
same here, I get to play Mrs.Paroo
How do you do those backdrops? Is there a company you can buy them through, or is there a way to make them yourself?
Barbara Kulak The Theater Department rented them from somewhere.
It is possible to make them yourself, but you need fairly capable mural artists to do it. And of course you also will need very large cuts of muslin to paint on.
how does one post such a long clip? what format etc? awesome!
Once your channel gets enough videos or views TH-cam lets up upload videos of any length. I'm not sure what the numbers are to get there...
marian....
Does anyone know the name of the guy who plays Harold Hill in this production?
