    Hello friends and welcome to another Swiftlessons Lick of the Week! In this tutorial I’ll break down a flashy Django Reinhardt inspired lick, built from a very common position of the A natural minor scale. This phrase also utilizes an arpeggio of the Am chord in the D position, which is something that can be observed in the playing of many great gypsy jazz artist. Let’s get started!

    Just became a patron man. You are an incredible teacher. Hats off to you. One thing, a lot of PDFs aren't notated, it's just tab. As a music student reading is highly encouraged. Is there any way to get the material notated? If not no worries, thank you again, and hello from sunny so - cal!

    Glad you and your wife enjoyed Paris! What did you prefer the most there?

    • @swiftlessons
      @swiftlessons  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I most enjoy the architecture of the city. Philadelphia tears down most of it's historic buildings, so it was nice to visit a city that had such an abundance of historic structures. In addition, my city has very unreliable public transportation, so I was very impressed with how modern and efficient the metro was.

    • @swiftlessons
      @swiftlessons  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha, I have learned some traditional Django licks with two fingers, but I think these licks would be out of my league. Django was an amazing player, and I always point to him when students complain about their physical challenges.

    That's not gipsy jazz, that is a resume of an howo playguitar lesson part 4. Sorry mate.

    • @swiftlessons
      @swiftlessons  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, the first phrase was drawn from a Django improvisation, and the other phrases are very similar to licks that stephane wrembel plays. If you put a typical gypsy rhythm behind these licks, the flavor will be there.

    the sound of the guitare is pretty odd imo sounds more like spanish than gyspsy jazz.. by the way the lesson seems good. maybe you need to go for another jazz guitare
