That bought back some memories lol I was an army chef in the early nineties and I see the ration packs haven’t improved much - any decent chef would have always raided the stores before deployment and then sent the lads out (acquiring shall we say). Happy times
The grunts get porridge oats and toast and jam, the officers get scrambled eggs, beans and sausages. Everyone gets chicken n spam pasta for lunch and chicken and mash with chocolate pudding and custard for dinner 😋
In an op on top of a massive hill looking down on port San Carlos the inside was made of 10 man ration packs the out side sand bags of course so while there we got through them I don’t know why or whose idea it was to use this type of fortification but it tasted good especially the chocolate cake with the tinned cheese luvly
