Great vid. The only thing I would add if talking to a beginner is: be knowledgeable about your water source. When first starting out it is easier to pick fish that live within the parameters of your water source instead of tackling adjustments when you are first starting. Thanks for the clip man!
I have guppies and they are so hardy I even threw some in a tank out side with some spare plants no filter no air fed about once a week if that been there 12 months fruit and all😅

It's a shame that the neon tetras have so many issues. They have such a fun and outgoing temperament for a small fish. My neons are the randiest little fish I've ever had. They zoom around my tank scattering eggs every morning 😂 I love neons, but they did have some issues when I first bought them and my black widow tetra.
Nice video again Blake. Keep up the good work. My alternative for a German blue would be a Bolivian Ram (M. Altispinosa). Easier to keep; stronger, lower temperature and they colour up beautifully. One of the most underestimated fish in the hobby IMHO.

I'm like you, I unsuccessfully tried to keep GBR's early on. If I can ever find a strong strain of them, I'll try again. I'm stubborn that way. What do you think about Cardinal Tetras? Are they a weaker cousin of Neon's, and even farther down your list? I agree wholeheartedly about Angel fish! Always three or more. Get them young and let them grow up and pair off! I think cardinals are a bit stronger than neons but they cost more and only live half as long.. if i was going to recommend a tetra it would have been cochu tetras or rummynose tetras i reckon 👍
Blake is it OK mix Platies in different colours and are they OK in planted tanks what are good fish to commune with I have bristle nose, pacific blue eye, guppies and white cloud minos

I've heard 40 gallons for a pair, but the biggest tank I can have is 30 gallons at the moment. Would it be okay to have one angel in there with some other peaceful community fish? Note: I am doing lots of research on this, but there's very mixed information about tank sizes out there. I'm trying to ask as many different people as I can before I decide on whether I should get one or not, since I don't want to accidentally end up with a fish in a tank that's too small.
We dont use those measurements here in australia so im not sure what a 30 gallon is but it will probably fine if it is tall enough, ideally 18 inches tall

Great video, for a few years i have been working on breeding fancy guppy colors into healthier lines of endlers for size and looks.

Love my cloud of cardinals, celestial pearl danios with neon blue rams community tank. It’s probably been my most peaceful tank.

We dont see them all that often down herr but every pet store has CAEs
The common pleco gets to be very large.

They do much better in cd water.
The problem with keeping them 8n warmer water is that they emit ammonia when in warm water.
Female bettas are an excellent choice of fish. I keep a small sorority in a 70l tank. It is my favourite and most entertaining tank by a mile.

Feeding less will reduce the population
