    7:43 Bogibeel bridge was constructed at an estimated cost of ₹5,900 crore, which was completed in 2017 .Construction of railroad bridge over river Brahmaputra is very expensive. I don't believe road bridge would be only 2000 crore as mentioned here. So, the construction of tunnel is viable .

    Main reason is that bridges can be easily destroyed by enemy airforce, army or navy. But a tunnel is much harder to destroy cause it's underground. I am from Assam and I know we have a security issue from China. If they destroy the bridges over Brahmaputra, the entire communcation of North-East would stop. But a tunnel would provide a secure passage to vehicles.

      China surrounds entire of Northeast except for border with Bangladesh. Myanmar. China border is porus and both have communist governments. China needs to choke Chicken neck to kill Northeast. That leaves us only one option that is transport through Sea or Bangladesh. It's important to play a major role in the development of relations, trade with our neighbors. Whether it is SriLanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Maldives. India is not playing the big game and is too preoccupied with its own though. If we want to be a superpower than we need to control at least 1/3 of the world countries or the entire Indian Ocean Rim.

    This underwater tunnel was a proposed by the Indian army as a defence to the security threat from china. A bridge can be targeted and destroyed by the Chinese air force, keeping in mind the site is not far from the reach of the Chinese air force. But a tunnel is hard to locate and neutralize. Other than that there was no need of this tunnel. That's the only reason.

    • @Rahul_Singh100
      @Rahul_Singh100 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      By that logic chinese must also be building underwater tunnels across the Yangtze river. Or is the fear of preemptive strike only pondered by Indian establishment. A depth charge of few 100 kilotons can easily destroy the tunnel.
      Chinese don't even need to bomb bridge. They can easily flood North East using Brahmaputra/Yangtze river over which they have built dams. A few bombing on the hilly roads of Arunachal is plenty to block Indian military movement. They don't need to come as far as Assam.

      @@surajraika7821 The argument given here is not of jot developing North East but what kind of infrastructure is better ,anywhere be it north east or north west.
      Underwater infrastructures are unsafe. And given how the quality of construction companies are, which are given contracts....The Company which built the Bogibeel bridge in Assam is the same company which built the bridge in Bihar recently, which had to be broken down.
      Have critical mind, and aptitude ,otherwise u are going to get played by politicians who also milk infrastructure projects to make few crores for themselves. Being Patriotic is good, being fanatic isn't.
