- The AMG GT 43 is the gateway into this elusive club at Mercedes. On the outside you get a unique front fascia, AMG wheels, rear bumper and AMG exhaust. On the inside there is a balance of sport and luxury. Under the hood you will find a 3.0L turbocharged inline-6 that produces 362HP & mated to a 9-speed TCT. After watching your review of the E63S wagon, that really seems to be the one singular choice.
Great review Joe. You were sounding raspy. Allergies? BTW I thought the 43s were not EQ boosted but rather the 53s. You would see an EQ badge under the hood as well, and those were making 390 something horsepower if I'm not mistaken.

I think for the money, an E53 sedan is probably a better buy depending on how you spec it. Slightly more performance, more room in the interior, and it's probably more comfortable overall. As a bigger guy, I look at comfort and fit first, but the E53 has more horsepower as well. The GT 43 starts at $90k, and the E53 at $74k. For the price of the GT 43, you could spec ventilated front seats and still save money.

I agree with you that the price is crazy. Especially when you can get the same infotainment system in the cheapest car Mercedes makes. The A220 starts at $33,600.

@@mappy-5934 I've owned c-300, amg c63, and blutec eclass from Mercs. I never went back after seeing the value plumit. I'd say from my favorite cars would be my GTR. I havent gotten the GT500, it will arrive here in about 12 days! I also owned 2 SRT-4's a long time ago. Those were extremely fun cheaper cars!

I’m not a fan of the seat controls on the doors, most people only need to touch them once. Why would anyone want to see them as they are driving around in a $100k car when they could be on the side of the seat??? Great review Joe!!!!!!

Right. Ventilated seats are a must have.
It's an option. Everything on German cars is an added option. You would think, though, a dealership in Florida would spec it with ventilated seats. That's on them.
Really nice car but not for $103k. For that price it should either have a v8 or an extra turbo for another 100hp. Hard to pick this over an Audi S6 if you want sport luxury or an rs5 if you want more sport while saving $10k-$18k doing so depending which you went with. For $105k you can almost get an M5 or an E63 with no options if you shop around
Mercedes should just rebrand this as the ; "OMG" trim. Joe , I'm a Las Vegas Raiders fan and I approve of the Silver and Black colors.

How's quality control with Mercs nowadays?
Here in DC a guy had one still with the paper tags at a light and I wanted to test him to see what it could do. Long story short, he got beat by my 2019 Ecoboost😂🤦🏽♂️. He made a quick dart into an alley because he didn’t want to see me at the next light. For the money and with the AMG badge that’s soooo embarrassing. he could’ve bought a hellcat

Hey Joe, let me just say me being a former Mercedes owner. I do still love Mercedes, My favorite will always be E63s. When it comes to the AMG GT43 I can't say anything bad about the car, Well maybe 1 thing, on the start up it sounded a little too tame. Mercedes could have made it sound more hollow. I also kinda feel Mercedes borrowed some styling from the Porsche Panamara, the rear profile and rear end I almost got it mixed up. And also the center console where the trackpad. It's almost the same from Porsche's styling. Or maybe it's just me. But overall I like it. But I would still choose the E63s. Great review please keep them coming.
