Splitting your access database is required in having a convenience in multiple users on a network.
Splitting your database is a way of enhancing and controlling security breach to your database whilst you have it on a network.

I covered everything in this video. Split and put backend on the server whilst the frontend rests on each user computer

Yes exactly as you said. But there should be much settings to restrict users in the network drive
