Awesome resort , just got back October 8th. Lost power in our room twice in the middle of the night. Room went black, power came back on within seconds . on the elevator we got in power went out. We were stuck. Fortunately I hit the emergency button, power came back on. The ride to this resort is pure hell, potholes galore. Tuff to get a reservation for the restaurants that you need … other than that a great resort.
Yeah the roads in Jamaica are an adventure for sure. I have had the power come and go at a few places in Jamaica, but Sandals has generators that kick on, so if the islands power goes out you are usually covered.
Very informative video. Nice to see the progress over the past year - we were there in mid-April 2023 just days after they closed the French Village and are going back in 17 days (our first repeat at a Sandals resort). Although the new Long Beach buildings look nice, the Starlight Village is a more central location - we were so happy with the DVS category room (larger of the Club level rooms (No.'s 3x05-3x10)) we are staying there again. Of the 16 Sandals we have been to (stayed at 11 and visited 5), South Coast is our favorite resort on Jamaica (royal Barbados is our favorite resort).
There was a little but not much and I also am up early when they are just starting to groom the beaches. I am sure an hour or so later they have them looking pretty close to perfect :)
It's defiantly off the beaten path @Whittingham_loveyourself. They do have activities, shows, different themed party nights. I did the silent disco one night and it was.a blast, Karaoke in the disco one night (goes till 2 AM). The disco club has something going every night until 2 AM.
Hey Steven, yes the airport luggage handler and the bus driver are happy to accept US dollars. I tip the baggage person a few dollars or $5 but I usually have just one bag. The ride is up to you. It’s like and hour and a half ride so I probably over tip with $20 but some people don’t tip at all, some a few dollars. Have an awesome time. I was just there a few days ago, it’s a great resort.
Thank you for info on this resort. You mentioned the gym is under renovation - can it still be used? If not do you know when it will be back in use, I plan to be in JA in May and if the gym isn’t ready that’s my deal breaker. Thank you.

We are heading here in '25 and booked category DGB. Any room # recommendations for best views? Thanks!
were you able to show the new longbeach building? if so what is the time stamp?
Hey CJbeats I could not go in during the construction :( it’s open now 😀
Thank you for the video. Looked like a lot of that black sea grass coming in. Is that the norm for this resort / location??

It's beautiful! However, it Looks like a very boring and quiet resort, but I could be wrong. Do they have day or night parties here?

Negril video?
@@tammylove9579 I need to make one. I was just there. I have a new favorite restaurant in Negril too that I need to share :)
What month did you go?
I was in Jamaica in March :)
Hello! I'll be there in September. Do they accept US dollars? And how much should I tip the driver from the Airport to the resort?
