Only starting could count as world record, he's anchor leg in this race, the reaction time is different when you watch your teammate touch the wall and listening to the gun, it's usually .4s to .6s faster so it equates to a 46.3 to 46.5

From Reuters, a day after Zhang won 100m free, report this. I believe it's quoting Pans' response at the post game press conference to a New York Times reporter's question of using drugs (his question might be implicit but that's what the reporter try to insinuate that Pan is doping): "[Pan] said he had been frequently visited by anti-doping testers. .. "Last year I received 29 tests and never had a positive," he told reporters through a translator. "From May to July, I had 21 tests, no positive. Today we received a second test already."" So it seems it's a minimum of two tests per day during the game, on the Chinese swimmers at least .

    • @wangqi1387

The political interference of the United States has led some testing agencies to conduct excessive testing on Chinese swimmers without the permission of WADA. Many Chinese swimmers received 6 to 7 tests a day before the Olympic Games, including 2 tests in the middle of the night and early morning. They could only rest for 5 hours a day, which seriously interfered with their training and caused deep fatigue. Pan Zhanle did not receive so many tests, but still more than most swimmers, much more than the American team.

Food safety in China is quite terrible. There have been cases where melamine was added to infant formula, and more recently, cooking oil was transported in a truck meant for kerosene. It's hard for people in developed countries to even imagine such things.
In China, it's common for food to contain excessive pesticide and hormone residues, which is why many Chinese wealthy people only eat imported products. In the past, some Chinese athletes from other sports were banned from competition after consuming contaminated meat, though the bans were later lifted on appeal.
Since the incident in 2021, the Chinese swimming team has been restricted from eating outside food freely.

What most people don't know or notice is that the yellow race develops one to two years later than the white race. Some people wonder why Pan Zhanle's performance was not very good two years ago, but why his performance has improved so fast in the past year. In fact, it is because he has officially entered adulthood in the past year, while he was only in the "teenage" stage before. When he set a new Olympic record, he was 20 years old in 3 days, which may be equivalent to 18.5 or 19 years old in Europe and the United States.
He will be 24 years old in the next Olympics, which is the peak period of human fitness. In the next 4 to 6 years, I believe he has a good chance of breaking the 45-second mark. Of course, that is theoretically, and there are many factors that actually affect his performance.

I was wondering. What took anti-doping authorities so long to expose Lance Armstrong, given the world's best labs in the US? 🤔 US produced by far most “superhuman” athletes: Serena Williams, Michael Phelps, Lance Armstrong, Simone Biles, Michael Johnson, .. once-in-a-generation legendary sportsmen and women. What were the chances, amid the growing obesity rates and opioid addiction and decreasing life expectancy with failing public healthcare system?
Meanwhile, Chinese athletes are down-to-earth people by and large without superhuman genetic qualities. You hardly heard of an exceptionally decorated Chinese Olympian winning multiple gold medals. China has no equivalent of Marion Jones or Katie Ledecky. Yao Ming could never surpass Michael Jordan.
One-man show was not Team China's winning way throughout Olympic history. Nearly every Chinese victory meant a hard-won battle, in the absence of marijuana. I doubt neither Usain Bolt nor Michael Johnson. But reasonable suspicion lingers concerning Phelps' godlike miracles. Intuition suggested something amiss, given developments that more than meet the eye.
While I admired American sporting superstars the likes of Jordan and Johnson as a teen for their honest achievements, what were the chances that the most desirable super-athlete qualities originated from a single nation beset by sky-high obesity rates, amid a worsening opioid crisis that resulted in a lower life expectancy? 😏 Inflation kills.

Nobody can do rapid bench press 100 times too fast without having rests or slowing down in the half way to catch up a breath, even if the weights are relatively light. Muscles need energy to keep contracting on. If you swim the first 50m too fast, ATP and carbon related energy expires in the last 10m and you have a hard time to maintain the speed. If you want to make a good performance in the latter 50m, you have to save your energy until the mitochondorions can generate ATP from fat through acid exercise, which means you can’t swim too fast in the first 50m for the purpose of the smooth energy loading. This is the science for 100m sprint swimming. However, this Chinese boy swam the first 50m extremely fast, and then he didn’t seem at all to have struggled with water in the last 10m. Why that can be possible? This is the question all swimming experts have in mind.

I am like girly girl look like those K pop ppl , i have 36.2C body tempreture, 79/59 blood 🩸 presume. 62/min sitting heart rate. In China they would do annual health check for all kids. The doctores always confused n double check me cuz my stats resembles i am “ill”. Then he would be like “oh do u faint or have heart issues when u run?” Me :” NO I win running compititons.” He:” do u train?” me :”NO, i am not sports team. No training”. HE:” u are either Sick something wrong with your heart or u are genetially gifted, cuz u are a girly girl. This type of thing usually are on professional athletes, u say u sit at home all the time your parents do not let u go out. ” lmao. 😂I reemmber randomly signed up CN tower Climb. Only trained to jog like 6 7 times before hand 2 weeks prior. The night before jogging day, i went out party 🎉 Blacked out vomit (i am allergic to alchohol) lol. 😂 waking up 5 hr later empty stomach(didnt have time to eat had to meet friends), went CN tower climb. I RAN ALL the way up 171 floors NONE stop in 1 shot. A Tall young white guy looked so snatched tailed me over 100 floors rage run could NOT pass me. The dude was So mad 😡 stanky eye at me at top lol.
Turn out I had 18 min record (first time) lol most healthy young guys would take 22-25 min, women 25-30 min. If guys could do 20 min its like Amazing. Lol ME never go to gym, black out, hang over , got up 7am to Climb bloody CN tower, low blood sugar thin Oxygen. Some guy in the meeting at my dude’s work like he preped for weeks that he did the Climb for 22 min n he was raving about his score cuz anyone under 25 min is like “ DAMN” . I always wonder what score i would have gotten if I preped 2 weeks more, n actually did not go out party n vomit 🤮 n blacked out side ways in my bed hours before my big climb lol 😂. I just know i was genecailly advanced. Lol. In mid school they test everyone’s lung 🫁 capacity n make us blow at machine. Mine was like 1.5X capacity of my female classmates. Lol I just could HOLD myself Significantly longer under water . I knew i was good in all sports cuz I would used to win titles in school in Running or high jump without training lol.
The City official tried to visited my family like 3 X to convince my mom to send me to train for Gymastics hope one day to be going to Olympics. My parents said NO lol. (I was 3-4) lol.
There ppl Genetically different that they do NOT have the same metabolism as others. They can preserve energy. Both my parents look 20 years younger than their age. They dont do anything special. Lol 😅 SO i know their Mitochondria do NOT absorb nutrients especially sugar d same way most ppl do. To this date sitll mystery why my parents age so slow comparing my friend’s parents . NOT everyone’s genetic are same. I don’t believe what they say, but I’ll believe what I see. The life spun as a top competitive swimmer in the free world is about 12 to 16 years. On the other hand, that of Chinese top competitive swimmers is 8 to 10 years or even shorter, and performance time varies a lot by competition by competition. And after retirement, nobody knows what they’re doing. Using drugs to enhance performance leads to this ending. I know Pan is a good swimmer. Observing all his skills, he can swim 100m in early 47 sec, I would have believed 46.8, or .7 but .4 is not that easy. Let’s see how well he keeps this high performance and live long as a top swimmer. That will explain the secret of Chinese swimmers.

@@akiogoto9469 I really do not think the Chinese swimmers are doping. It is consistent systematic training and the spirit of pursue excellence. Pan also admitted that his age certainly helped with the last 10m while other swimmers were older. Given some random short videos, Pan was not even allowed to drink from random water bottles handed over by the staff. They were extremely careful with the food consumption to avoid food contamination. Because everyone knows the consequence of Chinese swimmers tested positive - the US may even try to put them in jail or eliminate the team from participating Olympics given the current political climate. I might be in the minority in this comments section, but I'm still a little skeptical, not just of Pan being clean but also the legitimacy of records in track & field. If, for example, Ye Shiwen was clean, why did she improve so rapidly and then, after the London games, practically disappear from competition, and now that she's competing again, it's not in the freestyle but in the breaststroke? Don't get me wrong--I like her and for some reason always cheer for her, but given the various documentaries and interviews one can find on the subject, one message persists: it's easy to pass a drug test and easy to avoid a negative one without penalty the first couple of times. To be competitive, athletes have to take something, if for nothing else than rapid recovery after punishing their bodies in practice regimes. All that said, I know the equipment, pools, track surfaces, etc., and diets and training methods have evolved since the "garbage miles" days of the 60s and 70s. But I also know that ultra-competitive athletes (is there any other kind at this level?) will, most of them, find an edge, if not EPO or growth hormone then something over the counter to enhance 02 uptake. I remember when Ian Thorpe, one of my favorite swimmers, tested positive for high testosterone, the allowable limit of which is very generous, and Mark Spitz called attention to it. Of course, Ian denied any wrongdoing.

I don't trust Pan Zhanle's race at all. Here's three reasons: 1) It's the only world record at these Olympics, due to the pool construction. 2) He improved his own world record by a full 1/2 second, not done in 50 years. 3) Beating a full field in a short 100 M race by a full second has never been done before. Each one of these reasons can be justified individually but all three can't. These three reasons raises red flags.
20 Chinese swimmers tested positive for drugs. The World Anti Doping Agency did NOTHING. There were no consequences. The sad fact is, whether it's swimming, running, or cycling, there's no way to know who's doping. As an American, I called out Lance Armstrong for doping before he was caught. Everyone said I was "hateful." Ridiculous. You can't battle cancer and come back to win the Tour de France. It's disrespectful to the hard work and talent in the rest of the cycling field. I also called out the female Irish swimmer who won Gold for doping. She too was caught. Was I sexist? Was I racist? Russia had state sponsored doping and was caught. Were we racist too? I could turn the tables and say you all are ignorant. I was a competitive swimmer.

So unless he gets popped for something, it is pointless to speculate because doping alone can't give someone over a full second ahead of silver. I mean surely people would be winning by seconds left and right in sprinting or short distance swimming if it was that simple, unless you're implying that in 50 years he is the only guy doping which is why he is the only one who can beat the next person by a second in 50 years?

Regarding your second paragraph, if you called out every athlete for doping, congrats, you will definitely bingo 1 or 2. The metrics you are showing here are NOT solid.

WADA addressed the incident of the 20 swimmers who were tainted by the exact same contaminated hotel food. In fact, it was China's Anti-Doping Agency who reported it to WADA who conducted a thorough investigation at the hotel where they did find traces of TMZ in the kitchen. 3 other swimmers were part of the group but were staying in another hotel. Pan Zhanle was not part of this group. WADA clarified the situation and confirmed that it was a case of tainted food, this was why these swimmers were allowed to compete in the Tokyo Olympics a few months later. They were tested heavily during and after the games and were found NOT POSITIVE. That's that.
The difference with this Paris Olympic is that the US have been trying to accuse the Chinese of systematic doping, and therefore implicate the team to be banned or be tested MORE OFTEN. The Chinese swimmers had been tested 21 times already, compared to the US 6 times and Australia 4 times. None of the Chinese have been found to be tested positive.
The problem is that sports have been used as a political tool to show who is great and strong, and no one uses that platform to the tilt quite like the US. If poor, developing or Asian countries are doing better economically and increasing their capacity to participate in world sports, the US suddenly feels threatened. It got Russia banned from the Olympics and it will do the same to the next country. Only one country (and its allies) do this!
Another reason why the US do this is because they have the worst record for drug abuse in sports, with the most cases in sporting history, so they have to complain loudly about another country to create a distraction. Armstrong was the poster boy of US sporting success, and he was caught. So they shifted to Phelps and now more people are suspecting that he's been a drug cheat all along. It is inhumanely impossible to peak as a 17 year old for 8 straight years and still be highly competitive for another 8 years. No other human could do that. Usain Bolt performed at the highest level in the 100m, 200m and relays over 3 Olympics because he succumbed to injuries. He could do long jump, triple jump and even 400m if he really tried to do what Phelps did, but it is impossible. Phelps could participate in 4 Olympics and in multiple events, he is definitely TAKING PEDs, but he is protected just as Lance Armstrong was protected.

Its a shame that prior cheating by the chinese swim team has created doubts about the validity of this performance. Thats the problem with cheating it leaves a stain. Sad for Pan if he is legit, which looks like it.

lol shut up. The U.S has a bigger doping history than China. The U.S’s 1.2% compared to China’s 0.2%. Go eat your sour grapes. Pan broke the record and won gold because it was well deserved from all the disrespect.

I see some Westerners slandering the achievements of Chinese athletes. Your slanders cannot change the achievements of the Chinese. Believe me: the Chinese will defeat the arrogance of Westerners in all fields, not just sports. Things that make Westerners despair will become more and more serious in the future. Come more and more.
