An opportunity by Toronto's "The Remix Project"
Sony Music Canada emailed a list of four songs from J. Coles new Album "Born Sinner"
leaving no rules or structure towards how the Music Video should be put together.
One of those songs out of the four happened to be "Let Nas Down"
Missing the deadline I figured why not still upload it.

"I'm just a man of the people, not above but equal, and for the greater good I walk amongst the evil" fucking love that line. That's like a Martin Luther King quote in the shadows.
Me too
It might as well be, He would had been on Dreamville hahaha
+Retsilisitsoe Mokhethi haha nice
th-cam.com/video/Lg-ry3QILNE/w-d-xo.html
that line is so un-appreciated
I genuinely do not understand how people do not like this man's music
Thats What I'm sayin
He’s really fallen off. His stuff that made him big was some of the best. Now it’s just garbage.
@@Smokealotofblunts have you listened to K.O.D I don't know but are you on drugs. Like let the man advance his music. Bruh he still fire forever
He hasn't skipped a beat, don't know why you're saying he fell off.
They some clowns and lower level mental PEOPLE!!
the way Nas responded makes me so emotional- "I ain't mad at you, young king" oh, my heart
This is how you respect idols... J Cole heard Nas didn't like his shit, instead of making a diss track like typical emotion would drive anyone to do, he vented from the heart at talked about failing, being extremely humble... and an extremely humble response he received in return... and now look, they are both legends, both in my top 5 tbh.
I heard its because jay z said to drake give him a hit infront of j cole lol
"I'm a man of the people, not above but equal and for the greater good I walk amongst the evil"
that bar weighs alot more than this track
#COLD
ak47jbonus "theres two sides to a nigga yo" j. cole, 2face
That was a hit though the more unknown songs are really how artists are
raww
Still glad he didn't diss Nas and take that route like the rest of these emotional rappers.
if Drake did the same thing Cole did, everyone would call him soft and a bitch
if Drake did the same thing Cole did, everyone would call him soft and a bitch
MrFresh True, but that's just because we've been heard Drake rapping emotionally before so it would just sound like more of the same. Cole barely ever does songs like this.
C. L.K goog point man
MrFresh because he is lmao
Pac was like Jesus
Nas wrote the bible
J Cole is the last disciple
And the message is - we all equal
@@Aken12 BARS!!!
But kendrick also exist and is as brilliant as cole

6 years later this song randomly came back into my head. Quality!
Same well i only found out about this song in 2016 sadly but its a great song
"Here the crown, pass it to you like nothing, my ni**a you ain't let Nas down." - Made Nas Proud - Nas.
Exactly

listen to this
It’s deeper than that brotha
.."Labels are archaic, formulaic with they outcome
They don't know, they just study the charts
Me, I studied the shows, the fans, study they hearts"..
JCOLE ladies and gentlemen!
thank you jcole for fcking keeping it real instead of making a diss track you make an apology to the great
Machine Gun Kelly should’ve done something like this when Eminem dissed him.
But instead he did something, what an IDIOT
@Sary SAFAR Never too late though he could still turn it around if he could swallow his proud.
yeah instead he let his ego make decisions for him
Aye bra I wrote A comment like this on MGKs rap devil😂
Don't even compare cole and Nas to mfs like machine gun Kelly. Like I just can't take that dude seriously
This young man does not have to "beef" with anyone to sell his music he has already shown that much & without the negative energy GOOD MUSIC SELLS ITS SELF, I'm old enough to be his mother and I LOVE his music, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK !!!!!!!
Yessss! 🙌🙌🙌
That sax line rings of Fela Kuti... this is genius!!!
It is fela's gentleman
"this for the n*gga that said hip hop was dead I went to hell to resurrect it how could you fail to respect it " was the moment I went from a Nas Stan to a J Cole Stan
Narhang Vandam honest to God coke put his heart into this
Narhang Vandam being a Stan isn't necessarily a good thing though. Being a Stan is being obsessed, in a mentally bad way.
Josh. Yeah I meant it as a figure of speech lol
I love this song because it's the opposite of everything that's happening with drake and meek in the music industry instead of trying to out do each other he's throwing respect his way
Well said
True shit....j.cole is motivational fr
+Viyanka Perez same shit when pac was dissing nas. nas gave him nothing but respect.
Well if it's a rap battle, that's what you're going to try to do. Is out do the other MC. 😕
why is the only way to big up an artist u have to dismiss another. I'm not the biggest fan of meek I like drake and big krit. But they make music that motivate other. But music is subjective so your intitled to like who u like
who else has listened to this song 10 times in a row? +
Roan Andrews I'm about to
Bruh the guy who made this video did a great job. I thought it was the official thing. This songs deep and NAS is proud
Couldn't have said it better
Best track J Cole had ever made (my personal opinion)
I agree
I personally thought born sinner was his best. But thats just imo.
+Nick Weglarz Popular wise "Who dat"/"No role modelz" are my favourites. Best of his more unknown work I'd say "Born sinner"/"Lost ones"
love yourz!!!too dope
Will W True stuff. Got a nice story to it
I aint mad at you young king, this unsung song is haunting...
it's 2016 and this is still my number one favorite song

Still bumping in 2018!!
How about now?

IF YOU HATE ON THIS ONE - YOU AIN'T HIP HOP, PERIOD
You ain't hip hop either. You're just an artist follower like the rest of us.
I'm still bumping this shit in 2016!! It's a Cole world. .. yall just living in it
Hell yea
preach💯👏
Can't stop listening...
+zaN same. that sax got me stuck
Lol still bumping to this in 2017 and it’s still giving me chills
J cole is absolutely amazing. Not only is he a lyricist but he has a great heart. He reminds me that hip hop is not dead with his heartfelt rhymes and his determination to capture people minds with to greater point of view to life. He shows us subliminals and most of all I respect the fact that he's intellectually stimulated, showing that's he's not dumb.
"Where's the hits? you ain got none? you know Jay ain't never put your album out without one!?" This makes sense, as to why his first album sounded so different from the tapes that we love so much. Labels make Artists record music that 'will sell' rather than the art we actually want. With FHD I feel like he got it back, to The Cole he wants to be. Love the dude so many nights I spent when his music was the only thing that made sense. Stay true and give people the music. ✊
I like how this sounds like a Nas song
true
damn thas true I juss realised why it felt familiar
they doth sampled gentleman by fela kuti
Exactly
Ifeoma Bosah y
this track is pure genius.i don't think he's apologising to nas here.he's just telling the story from his perspective to explain why he made 'workout',and the line 'you made "you owe me" dawg i thought you could relate clearly states that nas being an established artist himself must have know how record label make artists do song which doesnt suit their style so he shouldn't have criticised cole for it.i think its also kind of 'respectful diss' track lol
Glad to see someone else looks into these songs..ColeDamnWorld
This is one of the best iphop records ever hands down. The amount of respect this man pays to his idol through amazing raps and beat... What's even better is that the idol himself was so moved by it he had to get up on the mic and show him equivalent love and respect.
Been over 6 years now still one of my favorite songs
I'm from the uk and I thought hip hop like this was dead. I rarely listen to US artists but now I've heard this...
SuperbLotus in this generation we do have trash new artist but we have legends like J. Cole and Kendrick too
SuperbLotus pusha T, fab, j Cole, Kendrick lamar, people also says logic but idk I don't really listen to him but these are us rappers that has that lyrical vibe to them
SuperbLotus yall sleepin on the south. listen to Big Krit. hes a fuxking legend
SuperbLotus rarely listen to us artists. God forbid u listen to U.K rappers because they r absolutely ass.
u dont know the uk
Nas steered him back in the right direction, if a true rapper that he respected didn't let him know it wasn't about what white kids wanted to hear but instead what needs to be talked about then he would have released even more songs with no true meaning.
Mate why WHITE kids ?
But agree for the rest of the part
BadUsername Just being vulgar, but yeah mainly white kids listen to main stream shit, obviously not all but alot.
true dat!
P.rotègè_Royalè boi I'm white and j cole is my favorite rapper, and this is one of my favorite songs ever
J.Cole will forever be a complete package as a Hip Hop artist...Classic after classic that shall stand the test of time...
This man understands that in order to be great you have
You know your the greatest when Cole let you down

Someone on twitter posted this and said “let nas down pt2 coming soon” 😭
This song bring tears to my eyes yo I can hear the passion In this song yo I'm an artist too and this musical journey ain't any at all especially when you doing it all by yourself with no backing shouts out to them ones coming straight out the mud stay strong yo your time is right there you just gata know it 💯 🙏🏿

Hov is proud cole ,you aint let Nas down..long live the legends,Pac wrote the bible ,Big was Moses with 10 crack commandments

This song an Apology. Nas will still be the greatest of all Mc's no matter what happens. Why ? Well i have one word : ILLmatic.
Yes sir!
Nah,
Mr.know life Yes it is he apologized for making the track " work out "

Out of all the 2,700+ rap songs I've listened to, this is the most sincere of all J.Cole is a good rapper I have a couple of his songs on my Spotify playlist but this one is actually really honest and sincere I'm now a official J.Cole fan
"This is for the nigga that said that hiphop was dead
I went to hell to resurrect it
How could you fail to respect it?"
#JColeClassics
That was the dagger boom !!!
Our Nigerian sample on the sax from Fela kuti and the Migbo voice means I can’t hear u in Yoruba is so epic .
One of the best hiphop tracks of the 2010s
I can’t believe I’m just now hearing this song 🤦🏾♀️ it’s dope asf
And am in Africa but heard it in 2017 guess cuz i Stan
This whole album was fire.
Long Live The Idols, May They Never Be Your Rivals.
Mgk and Eminem lol.
This man Is genius for flipping a negative into a great record
When i first heard this shit it damn near gave me tears. Nas and jcole were the only MC's id listen to. To hear cole make a song about Nas gave me chills
J.Cole continues to amaze me, even after i listen to his songs on repeat 24/7. Never heard a rapper that can match up to him from my generation! Forget Kendrick and Logic are still dope, but Cole...he's definetly the best
Something tells me he let Nas down, I'm no genius but I'm sure of it
Its true. He released a song and Nas said it was trash
***** haha is it the chorus?
***** Nas hated his song "Work Out" because it strayed from his normally strong lyricism
You are a bright individual
***** I know I can't believe it
The difference between the pretenders and the kendrick lamars.

LOVE THIS SONG! Man I miss honest rap! Every day the legends die, saddens me to know this and that music will never sound as good as it did. Leaving this music in the hands of amateurs!!!!

The sax here is a sample of Fela Kuti, gentleman. It really blends.
Bad ass video, Cole is too sick bro

AlexxSuppaFlyyy Huh?? Lol
I want to know what everyones thoughts are: RATE J.COLE'S ALBUMS (PLUS MIXTAPES) FROM BEST TO WORST.
gayy
It goes: fhd, born sinner, kod= friday night lights, sideline story, 4yeo, warm up, come up
and if u include truly urs 1 and 2 along with rotd2, then: fhd, born sinner, kod= friday night lights, sideline story, truly yours, truly yours 2, 4yeo, warm up, rotd (if only cuz of the amount of tracks he had on there), come up
Goat
thisisromel born sinner, 2014 fhd, 4yeo, warm up , sideline story, Friday night lights for me at least
this song is deep! AND IT''S RIGHTFULY SO , IT'S ABOUT THE GOAT= NASIR JONES

Keep going, rap might be great again. Back to when it was great. I've heard of you for a few weeks, you're something special and another gift to Hip-Hop much like 2Pac or Nas.
J Cole seems so genuine I love it to have someone out there doing that
Props for the vid!! Very good job.
5 years later and this song still hits home
shit... rapper in the 20th century knows his place, thats unheard of! respect
It's the 21st Century dumbass
Jonathan Cruz
my bad, relax jonathan
this is the 21st century champ...
alot of people will never truly appreciate cole or realize all he has done and the fact he stayed real for the most part and when he slipped he made songs like these and came back stronger aka 2014 fhd after this album and then he speaks on it on foldgers crystals and jermaines interlude just a great human being that happens to make great music but still gets hated on for being real and honest but like logic said even Jesus had haters so what can we expect for ourselfs
I like how they just put a black screen the last 40 seconds. Makes you really listen to that awesome trompet sound
Courtesy of Nigeria's Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti

this song is lit
Why cant there be more real music like this in hip hop these days? This song gives real hip hop lover's hope for the future.
You woke Nas up.
Where else do you see this kinda camaraderie?? Nas, Jermaine, Kendrick... the realist...
It's no accident that three of the true-blues of hip-hop flock together.
“I’m not saying I’m gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world.” - Tupac Shakur
Stay true to yourself... Work towards being the best version of you so you can go out into the world and inspire others to become the best version of themselves.
this is beautiful , we all born sinners 👌
Soul shaking.... tears rolling... deep stuff...
My favorite rappers Tupac and Biggie Nas, Eminem, J.cole, logic, Drake, Dre and Kendrick I know not everyone likes Dre and Drake because ghost writers but they're in my top
