    This film showcases the amazing diversity of stick and leaf insects (also known as Phasmids, or walking sticks or stick bugs).

    The Weird and Wonderful Pets project is about inspiring young minds!
    While animal husbandry must always be taken VERY seriously (see Golden Rules video at the link above), many exotic small animals have quite simple culture requirements, and it is easy to provide suitable habitats to meet their needs.
    If you can (1) buy pets from ethical sources, (2) provide a suitable environment with correct culture conditions, (3) only obtain the quantity of pets that you can properly take care of and (4) ensure that no pets escape into habitats in which they do not belong, then looking after weird and wonderful pets, and showing their life cycles and natural history stories to the next generation is an incredible way to inspire young minds and help nurture the next generation of naturalists, scientists and conservationists.
    Visit www.weirdandwonderfulpets.com to discover the secrets of keeping fourteen amazing groups of small exotic animals!

      @@lemonbelly1 yes and that's the problem, you need to check their cage everyday for eggs.
      the eggs take around 1-3 months to hatch. and how to get rid of the eggs you may ask?
      that's simple, you should just pour the eggs in a container, and put the container with eggs into a freezer, that's the most painless way to kill them...

    This is so awesome thank you for making this video! I had an encounter with a stick bug much like the one you showed at the end to keep as an easy starter and I loved it so much. Do you know where to purchase the stick bugs or should I try and go find one in the wild?

    • @definitelynotavegan7285
      @definitelynotavegan7285 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Do NOT get them from the wild, you could damage the ecosystem and they could have parisites and will not live nealy as long. Go to a breeder instead, I would give you some recommendations but the ones I know are in the UK😅
