That’s the thing about white South Africans, they can be generous and decent humans when they aren’t rabid racists. SA needs more of these type of white SAns, the rest can leave for Australia(another racist enclave of stolen land) he’s just a hippie chilled vibes and can tell he’s a good person. I’d be shocked if he underpaid his staff whom I’m sure will be mostly Black SAns. Also visit Linden in Johannesburg, quite a few vegan and plant focused restaurants and corner grocery shops that are small set ups and family(or 1 person) owned

I'm on my way to South Africa and was looking for a vegan spot in Sandton, so thank you for the recommendation of The Green Side. I've been vegan 40 years. Eating plant based is the way to go to avoid illnesses, to look young and to feel healthy. Meat eaters struggle eating vegetables but if you want to be healthy and stay alive, you've got to eat plants!
If you want to live in the future you got to start changing the way you do things. Step by step chaos will bring change, revolution time.

I have been vegan for two years now, stopped drinking alcohol 4 years ago and stopped smoking weed a year ago ( I only drink boiled weed from time to time now). I have also been dry fasting once a week for the past two years. I have been fasting with fruits and raw vegetables seven days before the two Equinoxes (Spring and Autumn) and Solstices (Simmer and Winter) for the past two years. I have been meditating 5 days a week for the past two years. I also burn incense (impepho) once a week in my house and talk to my ancestors at our home altar together with my wife and children. It’s really been a wonderful journey of transformation for me. I am healthier, lighter, calmer, happier and more positive now than before my transformation. I really encourage a plant based diet, nuts and the use of herbs.
I couldn’t believe that I could live without meat, starch (I only consume low starch grains like basmati rice and pasta) , dairy products and any other animal/insect products like honey when I started this journey but it has now become easy to stay on this diet.
Food is really medicine…the trick is to consume plant based foods that are high in iron and alkaline. When food is medicine, it is energy giving. When food is poison, it is energy draining. After eating starch and meat, you get so drained that all you feel like doing is sleeping but after eating a plant based diet with low starch or no starch at all, you are so energetic that all you wanna do is work work work or workout workout workout 😂
That takes a lot of discipline and dedication. Salute to you family.💯

Also please visit Food Lover’s Market, Checkers& Pick & Pay food retail chains (the bigger branches) which are national so they are everywhere in SA…have a growing vegan section, locally produced nut butters, plant milks, plant cheeses and some vegan meats etc and Food Lover’s is great value for your fresh fruit and veg. Woolworths food section also has a huge vegan range but Woolworths is a upmarket so bit pricey…it’s like Marks and Spencer in UK but it’s fully SA owned & it’s expanded into Australia
