What a kind heart you have, helping the neighbors with some water. Bush is one big maze, can imagine your machinery has considerate planning to get through, But it seems accomplished, so far. Good work to all involved.

Yes indeed! But you know all about hard work, already. Still waiting for an invite to the secret location!

WOW! What exciting developments. I certainly hope your slow borehole can fill your tanks in time. Is there any water in the pond?

Dry hot period now. 40⁰C and long GAO's between small ¼" rains. Pond is about 60cm deep now due to evaporation. It is seeping into the ground though, can see the vegetation around it greening. Hoping to fill it in the next 2 or 3 months of those rains come. 😅

@@SimpleEarthSelfReliance SO happy to hear that the vegetation is greening. Hopefully it will grow to the point that it produce shade, becomes a windbreak and reduces evaporation. 👍 I hope your bore hole drill is uneventful and VERY productive 😊

The first 100 years it's all about water. After that we can relax. Vasbyt

That's got to be an exciting experience. Best of luck and may your water flow like a fountain. How much does it cost to get a well there? Here its about 125 dollars per foot. A well put in here is about 21000 dollars with no guarantee to get water.

Hey! Happy to hear from you.
Yep, no gaurantees here either. Let me work out the dollar value (direct)... R385/meter = $20/3.2 feet. Wow, is there a reason for the expensive nature there? Distance, geology? The 12m/40ft of steel casing we needed cost an additional $500 (can't complain, as the neighours needed 5 times that in the sandstone, but got 10 times the flow).
The cost of 3 feet, is about the same as a basket of groceries. Still, totalling to numbers that really hurt...
Hopefully we don't ever need to do it again. Rain harvesting must grow and water use improved.
PS: I haven't caught up on your videos for a while... sorry, will make time!

Road is good, preserving it is awesome, untill someone comes by with an old Merc Benz and just wrecks it 😮
