I bought the SKS 146 2.25. I live in upper peninsula of michigan. LOVE THE SLED! worked flawlessly. We do 80% off trail riding here. stuck it once..........all driver error. Also very impressed with groomed trail ride and handling. Never overheated. Even running on packed roads with very little loose snow. 100% happy with over 800 miles in one season. Keep up the great reviews.
AJ thank you for the review. I have the exact sled but low windshield and handguards. Everything you said about the the sled was true except it is the 2" track( like I said, I have the identical sled). But the only issue I have is it tops out at 160km. It gets there quickly and has a lot more but it cuts back power abruptly after a few seconds( enough to drive your knees into the sled) at that speed. Dealer called Polaris and said it was to protect the motor. Just wanted to know your thoughts on it or if you experienced the same issue.
Dealer is wrong. They are not supposed to do that. Mine did so I got the ecu reflashed and it does not do it any more. Why they bs customers like that is beyond me.
That answers my question. I have an original axys switchback and now with three crossover length axys it’s hard to know which would be the right one and most of us don’t get to ride everything to know the difference. I didn’t want it to suck on the trail because honestly with the winters we’ve had the last 5 years it wouldn’t make sense to get a hardcore off trail sled but was only ok where you get to ride it most. I’m in the deep as much as possible but that depends on weather. It’s good to know that an assault would be capable when the deep stuff isn’t available and trails could be your only riding all season. Good shakedown
How’s this sled go up against the xcr? I can’t decide between the two. I had a pro x before and ride 50/50 but also like to jump and hit washed out trails hard.
You guys run Ipone oil? My Buddy has about 6- gallons of this oil in his garage. I personally have never heard of this oil. I guess I was wondering if it would be ok to run in this 850 Patriot motor. Thanks!!
Are all the Polasis Switchback Assaults good or only after a certain year they started being the king of their category? I am looking for something that is good on trail and off trail.
Hey AJ, What LED Handguard lights are you referring to in this video? To my knowledge, Polaris does not make an integrated Handguard/LED light? I believe only SkiDoo and PowerMadd make LED Handguards....
@@jasonrose5804 9:00-9:17 "LED headlight, the best in the business. Illuminates the best, gives you the best low light riding light. Um Yah, works really good. If you put a set of those hand guards with their LED lights on them, um yah the thing is like it has a light bar on it." I know the headlights are LED, I own a 16' RMK. I was asking about the LED Handguards that AJ is referring to.
The warranty doesn’t mean much ... winter is limited, not like you can ride it year round like there atvs or sxs .. they don’t offer a warranty like that for those ?!?
How much for a sled like that ?? I have a old 2002 that runs fine but if a new one are around 7500 I would buy one think there double that like 15000ish for it .

Polaris will NOT allow building the 850 on their sled builder on their website. Nor will they allow the 139 track on their indy XCR or the 850 motor. So why review a sled nobody can buy?
Spun Did you ever think that maybe aside from fit and finish that everything they have been saying is just true because Polaris is just better in the real world things that most of us want? At least for ones that aren’t brand loyal and know enough about riding to feel the difference with handling etc

I bought the 2018 model second hand with 800 kms on it, and it's the best sled I've ever ridden.
I hope you guys do another true 50/50 crossover shootout for the MY 2020...
That’s what I like to hear! Just picked one up!
What happened to the shakedown on the SKS 146 from last season?
I f-in love mine!!!

I had no issues in the deep snow with mine( same sled) . It also has the 2" track.

We get almost 5 months of riding out here... warranty means alot.
wishing i got a new sled
Keep making these videos..... love the show too! Add more family stuff.... Says a family of six from Minnesota 😀
Nice sled for sure ..

dave Kamala's some times you can find demos. I found a 2020 Indy xc 850 137 with all the bells and whistles with warranty 163 miles under 10,500!
Great sled BUT the rear suspension needs help for serious trail riding. Too stiff. Easily curable tho
I have mine adjusted to perfection for the trail, problem is nobody takes the time to do it and they leave it at dealer settings.

Montana West Photography they’ve NEVER made a 139 sled, you can easily build an 850. What are you even talking about?
U should put your belt in the actual belt holder
Y’all still got snow???
Yeety Magee no he must be up north
When you film this there is a lot of snow

Start the sled. Even if only for 10 seconds. Sheesh.
Yeah im like 70/30 so i'll take backcountry X
Next time ride it
