    I watched a video once where 2 Korean DJs were talking about the media's mistreatment of BTS. They said that, at that time, they wondered what was going on that BTS was so much under attack. It was a real thing where BTS became the whipping boy for all the entertainment industry. I mean, even some entertainment companies used their group's fandoms to go after BTS on-line.

    Thank you for all the content Cyrus! I’m just sad that I haven’t had a chance to watch them as it comes out. But I will get to it all as I love listening to your thoughts too!
    I’m so happy to see BTS members more free to express their individuality, Army will continue to love and support them so the industry doesn’t control them!💜

    I think it's my 1st time commenting on your channel. I've been skeptical at first if I should sub (coz of ur tendency to immediately judge, but I was quite impressed by ur response to that). Glad that I still checked on your reactions and see the development. The reason why BTS words in their music or in gen are so powerful to us because we saw them live that, the encouragement and other sentiments they give thru their music are not empty words. For someone like me who was a casual entertainment media consumer, while I do enjoy when I listen or sing to music, I didn't really actively seek it as a source of comfort, inspiration, or motivation, I was just really passive abt it. For 2 yrs, BTS was among the many things that I'm just aware of that exists and would casually watch or listen on shallow level if they ever crossed me, Idk how popular they are or how big their influence is coz I don't rly care abt it in gen. Then some time in 2019, I heard a piano melody (Magic Shop) from an intro of a funny compilation of them while I'm browsing YT, that melody stuck to me, so I tried to find it and found a lyric video of it, and it was followed by Answer: Love Myself. These two songs is something I needed that time, I was ugly crying listening & reading to their lyrics. I spent the rest of the night having a buffet of BTS lyric videos. That's when I become more interested and invested in knowing them. I never knew that rap can be so expressive, emotional, and beautiful too. BTS made me appreciate music more.

    About BTS hardships, the amount of hate that BTS are receiving compared to other groups is ridiculous and a lot of reactors or new army are obsess about the question : "what has BTS done to deserve all those hates?" . They've always been very humble, down to earth and respectful towards others. From a business point of view, Koream culture is hierarchical and strict adherence to this hierarchy is mandatory for everyone. For a small unknown company with ragtag idols to dare to compete with the big guns is near blasphemy; so every effort is taken to ensure this system is not disrupted. That's just how things work.
    Also, BTS and Big Hit was différent : Bang Si-Hyuk , when he created Big Hit, openly stated he didn't like the system that the Idol industry had created and he wanted to do better. So he choose the boys for their talents and raw potential, not for their face (except Jin, none of them fit the very strict "k pop male beauty standards" , that's why anti attack them so badly for being "ugly (!) or "not a idol face", specially RM and J hope, but also Jimin who suffer from bodyshaming because he was cheeky and not thin enough! ) He let the boys have control over music, express their opinions, allowed them to talk about issues that many in SK society wouldn't, like mental health, school pressure, disparity in societal classes and so on. This mindset, added to the lack of fund and connections, made them an anomaly in the Kpop Industry.
    The big 3 compagnies controlled the media through this "pay to play system". At first, they look down on BTS, then they tried to buy them and fail. So when they became successful enough to be a danger for their idol groups , they tried to block BTS from broadcasts and TV promotions. BTS, being creative, develop their own shows, their own media platform ( Weverse) and used youtube to subvert the industry. Which made people in the industry mad so they tried to sabotage them through made up scandals and accusations, with the active help of their own groups fandoms. BTS went through every hardships , and same for K ARMY : they have faced so much hate, bullying and even physical attacks for simply being their fans, and BTS know that. This might be one of the many reason BTS have chosen to speak out about ending bullying and violence against youth. BTS create the song 2!3! to give comfort to Army during this "dark years (2015-2017) . They always said how thankful they are torward ARMY who still believe in them and fight for them no matter what.
    As they began to get successful worldwide, more hate come, with racism, xenophobia, and homophobia (even if they never talk about their sexual orientation, they are considered at least feminist and pro LGBT rights, with is sufficient from stupid people to hate someone, and being accused of “gay propaganda” in some countries ! ) . And a lot of prejudice (in part because they are considered as Kpop band, Ha Ha , so ironic ! ) .But maybe behind the xenophobia, there is still a question of money and power : If BTS was owned by a american label who make profit from them, it would have been a very different story.
    Despite all this , BTS succeed (what an incredible underdog success story ! ) and have faced the backlash with dignity and class and continue to spread their message of love to the world. They responding to the hate with their hard work and talent..( and also a few awesome diss tracks and cyphers ;) . They created another way to be successfull, and the most unusual codependant relationship between a group, a compagny and a fandom that had ever exist : Bangtan, Big Hit and Army.

    Toxic fans from the other group started this war(?).
    But toxic fans are in Army too.
    The fact is 2 huge entertainment companies really didn't want BTS to be bigger and bigger.
    They had huge connections with politics, media, broadcasting system and advertisement.😡😡
    I (as a 48 year old Korean army) rarely heard about BTS.
    and I didn't know about their history and achievement.
    They were not revealed on various medias fairly.
    After I knew about that, I felt very sorry that I didn't recongnize these hardworking sincere talented boys.
    And I as an adult was so sad I couldn't keep our boys from the unfair society .(I'm a baby army with 2 grown kids).
    I'm very thank you for sympathizing with us.

    Cyrus is so pleasent to see you now how you understand why we love them and now you do too.
    It takes to much patiece to spect recators that are new to BTS to understand, it's hard sometimes to hear it but at the same time we want peopple to have the oportunity to know them as we do and sometimes is the reason some armys tent to atack some reactors, i know is wrong to do it but we fail to empathise cause we want so bad for peopple to acknowledge them and we forget how it is to be on their side.
    Thank you for been persistant on learning and discovering more about them.

    I am OG ARMY but I try to stay away from all the negative, hurtful and racist comments made about BTS. So when I do see it I am still shocked to this day. That probably makes me naive but, like you said, how is 7 guys from SK making music actually affecting your life? If you don't want to hear/see it turn it off and find something you do like.
    If these people spent more time lifting and supporting their own favourite artists and less time trolling BTS, maybe they could achieve more. APOBANGPO!💜

    Phew, it was a heavy one! The thing is all the hates and noises were happening AROUND BTS, when BTS themselves were only focusing on themselves and ARMY, while ARMY protecting BTS, and responded to haters through their music. How cool is that? But please....let me defend my country Japan🥲Korea should be celebrating their independency, yes of course. But they should never celebrate the nuclear bombs...that's simply not OK as a human being. Like no one should ever celebrate a bomb that burned 210,000 people to death. I don't know why this video is describing it as if Japan overreacted. BigHit apologized to a nuclear bomb victims organization, and it was done. I hate that right wings still bring up this incident when it comes to BTS but it's a tiny minority in Japan, and K-culture is now dominating my country so hard hahaha because people know "culture" doesn't have room for political conflicts.

    • @BoraBlooded
      @BoraBlooded 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      blm is a good thing. Parts of the organization were corrupt, but the point of the movement remains- and the movement itself is what matters because racism and xenophobia is a plague in the US. I'm very proud of BTS for supporting a cause that so many celebs wouldn't even talk on. The controversy only came to like in 2022, a year after this video was made. I'm not sure what in that video you thought was so dramatic because from what I've witnessed myself, it's accurate. But even then, leaves a lot of stuff out because there is too much to fit in one video.
      (Also, I have no idea how my tone comes across but please know I'm not attacking you or anything.)

    • @SilverFang95
      @SilverFang95 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BoraBlooded 1st of all BLM the movement WAS good, way back in the day...not anymore. Racism does not plague America today, is there racism, of course. There is racism everywhere towards all races (yes including whites) in all countries, but will not go away. 2nd of all she specifically puts on her newscaster voice to make things more dramatic. If you watch the news or clips of newscasters they do that to dramaticize certain events. When you listen to her talk normally, she doesn't speak like that. The controversy came wayyy before 2022. It just wasn't as popularized. Blm just needs to sit down and shut up. They promote lies and base things off of emotions and not logic and facts.

      @@VictoriaLovesMusic what kills black people more? Their own race. By numbers. Did you know that African tribes enslaved other African tribes before europe or america came into the picture🤯 did you know that the Chinese, Irish, and other races experienced racism when building the railroads? You don't see them bitching and whining about privilege. They overcame it and look at them now. They are successful because they sat down, shut up, and worked hard, like everyone regardless of race needs to do.
