Neither guy gained a thing from this match, as good as it was. Hook, a guy they booked as a world beater up until this point, is suddenly supposed to be some tough-as-nails underdog who gets the crap kicked out of him and just gets back up? And the fact that he basically no-sold Joe’s offense during the final sequence, what did that do for Joe, and what’s that mean for Hangman Page and Swerve? If Hook took 2 muscle busters, an urange on the table, a powerbomb on the apron, a DVD, passed out in the Koquina Clutch AND WALKED OUT UNDER HIS OWN POWER, you can’t have Hangman or Swerve come out without eating that and doing the same thing, lest the logic is that Hook is tougher than either of them or Joe is just weak. Big victory for page
@@robbase5235 Punk will never headline WrestleMania. He's old and a bad worker and everybody in the industry can't stand him. Even if he did that wouldn't make him suck less. It would just make WrestleMania suck more. It hasn't been a good PPV since it went to 2 days anyway. It's like one of those festival concerts with two decent bands but it goes on for 12 hours.
Keep calling decent wrestlers "untalented" why you worship a guy who's never been good at anything in his life other than whining.
Joe is still a monster, and Hook is a fkn warrior. 🔥
And Mahal has dared says "Who the f*ck is Hook?", he really needs to go away after seeing this match 😅😂
@@alemagine lol this is a kid who no sold a Muscle Buster. Just stop 😂
Hook, a flyweight kickboxer, giving Samoa Joe, a thick boi heavyweight, a t-bone suplex. Great match!
Joe literally has the best move set in wrestling history
A lot of it looks goofy and the psychology doesn't really work.
Bret Hart laughing at you right now

The just made Joe’s finisher look like shit
That table folded like a cheap tent 😂
oh geez i just watched the end... Hook easily walks out the ring and off the apron, then the ref reminds him that the script has him and Hangman to close the show lmao
Great match! But that slam through the announce table was brutal! Hook definitely earned my respect as a main eventer.
This is awesome on so many levels. Tazz announced his son's match was beautiful, and Hook is going to be great in years to come, and Joe is going to be an awesome champion great work
Also worth mentioning that Tazz and Joe have a lot of history themselves. Hook was in trusted hands.
I believe Hook was humbled tonight. This encounter will only make him wiser for the next opportunity.
7:45 - 8:05 - the sudden introduction of Swerve, causing both Joe and Page to break their stare down and turn to him, all with Page's music playing is incredible. Gave me vibes from the ending of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. Page's theme song is so cinematic in nature, it's the ultimate "showdown" theme for wrestling right now. Really excited for the triple threat between these three, and can't wait to see how Swerve's character and story continue to unfold.
Edit: Also, Nana staring a hole through Joe like he's done being a dancing clown is just perfect!
Hahahahahahahahaha, credit to Samoa Joe for making that toddler look good.
That was a GREAT EFFORT from HOOK!!!
SO PROUD OF THE KID!!!
It's not real you mark
@@KingSilly Why don't you get in the ring with those guys and let's see how tough you are you mark.
Taz was incredible on commentary during this match
This match was fantasic, totally exceeded my expectations. HOOK looked great. On one hand, he definitely still has a way to go fleshing out his arsenal in the ring, on the other hand, he just put on a banger main event with Samoa Joe for the world title only 31 matches into his career. HOOK has a very, very bright future ahead of him.
I don't get it .... people saying this was a great match.
When HOOK spent 97% of it getting his ass beat down.
@@KingOfCoolness Yeah, and he still kept getting up and kept fighting regardless. If you didn't like the match I get it, but you should at least be able to understand why other people did like it, people always love to cheer for an Underdog. Yeah HOOK is a superstar. That’s a career making performance. He looked like a badass main eventer. Taz should be proud as hell. And props to AEW and Joe for protecting him. That’s a future world champion. He’s tough as hell.
You have this little guy no sell the muscle buster in your world champ's first title defense like he's Hulk Hogan???
It's a muscle buster. It's not like it's some badass move that people don't kick out of.
@@alphanerd7221 It's a finisher.

@@alexpolanco7885 It's not his finisher. Also, people kick out of finishers. It's the entire point of finishers. You don't know what booking is. Kicking out of moves has nothing to do with booking. You don't understand wrestling.
@@alphanerd7221 Why do you think the Burning Hammer is so legendary? Because nobody kicked out of it...Kobashi only brought it out a handful of times, and only during the biggest matches. Once he hit it, it was game over. To have someone kickout of a finisher at 1 is nuts, especially after them selling like death before it.
@@eastxsidexswagg It's not legendary. It's dumb. Kick outs at one are substantially no different than kick outs at 2.
This match was amazing. The emotion and concern from Tazz, the way Hook took those heavy shots and kept coming, the way Joe was shocked at his resilience, this was a fantastic display of wrestling

Excellent main event. I was laughing hysterically when Hook yelled, “That’s all you got!” Joe was more than willing to give the young man some more. It’s matches like this that make AEW special. And much respect to whoever came up with the idea for Hook’s Bat-Signal.
I don't watch aew, but i search youtube for hook every now and then. Glad i saw this. He's a special talent.
It is just me or are we "back"? Like, to me, this feels so fresh, like when AEW first debuted, a breath of fresh air for the product
I agree, this was pound for pound the best episode of Dynamite in months.
Stopped watching about 2 years ago might start tuning in again, absolute war in the ring looked good
Calm down, it was just this segment. The rest of the show was the same old bleh!
Haha get real it’s one match fool
That’s what they wanted with Joe and that’s what Joe wanted to do is help get aew back on track
Man this ruled. Samoa Joe is a killing machine and this match was perfect for what it was. Hook put up an unbelievable fight and loses nothing in a loss. Hook proved he’s tough as nails.
And exactly what makes Hook so tough. He is nothing more than a poster boy for nepotism - the next Erik Watts
I get it. It was a great match, but it accomplished nothing.
