    She's such a happy malinois. You don't see too many happy ones. They're usually pretty serious or ocd. But yours is happy.

      @@Olive-cp4nu They're awesome! I have one. They are working breed dogs and need a ton of exercise. They have a special personality and need someone who understands all of their quirks. But they are highly trainable, loyal, and intelligent. Once you develop a bond with them, they will do anything for you. :)

    • @luckydragon0538

      @@carolinefinley2816 how many hours of exercise do they need? I want a Malinois x gsd, they may be not as energetic as mals but I'm pretty sure they will have tons of energy

    • @carolinefinley2816
      @carolinefinley2816 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@luckydragon0538 It really depends on the specific dogs needs, but they shouldn’t be crates for long periods of time so not the best for someone who’s away working all day. My dog is good with a few mile run per day and a quick training session (30mins) so probably total 2-3 hours but some dogs need wayyyy more. Mines on the low side energy wise for the breed. Not just physical exercise but mental exercise (training) or else they are unmanageable.

    • @carolinefinley2816
      @carolinefinley2816 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@luckydragon0538 also reallly thoroughly research the breed. they bite. a lot. especially as puppies and not allowing them a proper “biting” outlet will cause them to negatively redirect. they’re bred to bite and it’s unfair to ask them to stop (i don’t mean aggression tho). they are prone to resource guarding. not a dog that’s meant to meet and be friendly with strangers but you have to curb anyyyy aggression.

    • @carolinefinley2816
      @carolinefinley2816 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@luckydragon0538 What i would say is if you want a fun, friendly, fairly easy dog get a lab or a golden. if you want a high energy working dog and are willing to put a lot of time and money into training, get a mali or another shepherd breed. but they are not for the faint of heart. he’s an awesome dog though.

      Every dog is different, but Cora loves tricktraning :) If you have a good and positive attitude im sure your dog will enjoy it too :) And a good reward is important! Its about having fun and teamwork! :D And dont make it too hard for de dog in the beginning, or the dog will become frustrated and think its booring :) There is alot of good trick tutorials here on youtube you can check out if you need some inspiration :) Good luck with your traning! :D

      See how Cora's ears are alert and her eyes bright and focused. She is clearly not working in fear but for rewards. Everything in her body language telegraphs that she is relaxed and happy. So we could say she likes it.
      Tricks are usually taught step by step and rewarding correct moves with trwats or toys. Dogs usually like to earn those. It should be a funny game :) You could read about clicker training.

      Great thank you for the info. My uncle had a Malinois ex-police dog, and I could never quite read the dog because I didn't know it's background. It was very intense, full of energy, constantly trying to read you, but I found it intimidating. But after some research on dogs I've learned to admire the Malinois and I'm learning all the possibilities in training them. So thank you for your info.

      Tell me why you think so? :)

    • @Olive-cp4nu
      @Olive-cp4nu 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Simply Cora
      Well, I say this for 98% of people. Just because most people today want a dog that will just be fine with only 2-3 hours of exercise. But with every Malinois I’ve worked with , I’ve sent that they thrive with much more stimulation than that. Also, boredom from the lack of proper mental and physical stimulation leads to behavioral issues (Including biting, hyperactivity, excessive chewing, and barking), mental issues, and even health issues.

    • @swevampwolf
      @swevampwolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alpha Wolf I see, however, I think it is the owner's fault and not the dog :) one must not forget what they were bred for. why should you get a dog you can't handle? It is up to the owner to ensure that they meet the requirements :) thank you for sharing your thoughts!

    • @Olive-cp4nu
      @Olive-cp4nu 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Simply Cora I know. Poor dog suffers if the owner can’t handle them. I just don’t want these beauties to suffer from the curse of 101 Dalmatians.
