      @@GoldPuffin Yes, he's joking. He's unsure like everyone still is and always will be. He's surely not being serious about the 4th goal either, because no way on this earth would he have been aiming over the bar. It defies all common sense and logic to turn down a hat-trick in a World Cup final, especially when it was just as easy to score than to miss. If he wanted to waste time, there were plenty of other more time-wasting things he could have done, like for example taking the ball down to the corner flag and shielding it or taking it down there and booting it into the crowd.

      Tree Top is blind and too apologetic to support his country. As a German even I can say you cant compare this one with the blind referee who missed the 2010 England goal (which spun over the line by a metre 2 x) vs Germany (I was there that day and level with the flag and thought we got away with murder on that one) or the Hand of God with Maradona in 1986 which for me is a football sham wrapped up in moment of hero worship for a cheating man. Roger Hunt could have put it away. He saw it as over. The ref at least consulted the linesman. Its such a blur it takes technology to argue it decades later and not all agree the same way even then. Ref was in a no win situation that day but Roger probably not finishing it off when the glory was his for the taking was likely something he thought of. Ronaldo would never have let that opportunity pass. He steals team mates goals from 6 inches out.

      I talk about what I want. And I was blind to Lampard as I love Germany but Argentina fans are blind to Maradona. Thats what makes them and me true fans. And thats why I say to Tree Top to shut up and join us as true fans dont care. You missed the message completely. That makes you stupid. To be that dumb you must be from Holland.

    • @graeme9668
      @graeme9668 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thats true. I told my girlfriend Anje after Round of 16 WC when we in South Africa 2010 if she did not agree Lampard goal was not over the line I would leave her when we return to Stuttgart and return to Heike my ex. She shut up. Now she is blind to questionable decisions that affect the teams we support and true German/Stuttgart supporter. By the way, I dont think hurst goal is not a goal. But if Tree Top disagree then he should pretend to be blind otherwise he can not support his country. That fact.

      What you are saying goes against the laws of physics. Assuming that the goal structure is assembled correctly then the crossbar should be directly over the goal line. There is no way a ball can hit the crossbar then cross the line mid-air then go back the other way to hit the goal line.

    • @ColumbiaB
      @ColumbiaB ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@steverichards575 - “Seeler”? Do you mean Schnellinger? I know that immediately after Germany’s 90th-minute goal, England keeper Gordon Banks was yelling at the referee that there had been a Germany hand ball immediately before the goal - a claim he repeated many times in later years, including in his 2002 autobiography. But Banks was mistaken to say so (as has Hurst been, more recently, in repeating that erroneous claim himself).
      The fact is, there was •no• handball on Germany’s last-minute equalizer - the best view of it is in the color footage, run at slow motion. That shows that, on the shot that “Siggi” Held blasted across the face of the England goal from the left, the ball struck NOT the arm of Karl-Heinz Schnellinger (Germany’s no. 3), but instead the small of his •back•. Geoff Hurst gave England its most proudest moment by scoring a hat-trick in a World Cup Final and winning 4-2 in extra-time. For that the nation owes him and the other ten players that played in the final a lot. However I must say despite this that although he is an England and West Ham United legend Geoff Hurst is not fit to rub Jimmy Greaves’ boots the man and player that he replaced. It was just a case of a player being in the right place at the right time for Geoff Hurst and for Jimmy bad luck. England’s greatest ever forward missed out on its most greatest moment.
    Jimmy Greaves will always be head and shoulders above Geoff Hurst both as a player all round and as a goal scorer.

    What, exactly were the rules at the time as to how much of the ball had to be over the line? If ALL of the ball had to be over ALL of the line, then it certainly wasn't a goal. There is a camera shot from behind the goal line which clearly shows this. THIS particular video has a shot of the strike as landing a much greater deal over the line, but the ball seems to be moving in a strangely wobbly movement, like there is some tricking about with the footage. Anyway, the 1/4 final against Argentina was such a travesty, England shouldn't even have gotten into the 1/2 final, so in my book, Hurst's "goal" is immaterial.

      @@joemartin2253 What do you mean 'nope'? If there was a kick off following a goal then the passage of play would be different to what would have happened had it had been judged not a goal and no new kick off. Yes it's possible it would have been 3-2 and it's also possible it would be 2-3.
      Your logic is based on imagination, not mine, as you said originally that it would be 3-2 even though that 's not certain whereas I am saying that you can't know what the score would be so you're the one using your imagination with that one.

He even says later in the interview that he fell after hitting the ball and did not have a clear view of the incident, either beyond the goalkeeper or goal line. And Germany : 6
    3 FIFA World Cups & 3 Euro Cups
    England have not reached the Final of any major tournament, World Cup or Euro, forget about winning the Cup.
