Yes, I love the storytelling in Sunmi's mvs. There is often a bright and cheerful exterior with something darker lurking underneath. It perfectly encapsulates the sort of hopeful/hopelessness dichotomy that many of us feel in our 20s/30s
Omg, you need to react to Sunmi more. I love her so much and her music. She's so talented. She's releasing Bops after Bops. There is just something in her voice that makes you fall in love with her. Plus, the acting in her music videos is just a chefs' kiss. She's a queen. She never disappoints. (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
All of her songs are bops. She's absolutely gorgeous and so talented! She announced a world tour and I don't care if I gotta sell my kidney I'm going!!!! This song gives me Lana Del Ray vibes and I'm here for it. Her album 1/6 was a freaking masterpiece!!! It was my album of the year along with Bibis. She is versatile too when you go from tail to this to Gashina. All different but all distinctly Sunmi also. She is taking over showterview and while I'm upset about what happened with Jessi it's not her fault and I will be giving her show a chance bc I love her. All the diversity in her men as well I love it 😍
Yeah the whole thing with Jessi and Showterview sucks, and it's probably gonna be a little uncomfortable in the beginning but as you said it's not Sunmi's fault and she probably also didn't know Jessi was unaware.

@@meryemanane2098 well Jessi took a break from Showterview and I'm pretty sure she was gonna come back after the break but the other day they announced that Sunmi would take over her spot and Jessi only found out through a fans post which is not cool on the production team and management part bc Jessi definitely made the show what it is. She said no hard feelings though.
Dancing on the graves of the people she killed or right in front of a bed where someone is currently dying is just peak Sunmi. The way you interpreted the story of the MV is pretty much excactly how I saw it too.

A bit of background in her, Sunmi debuted under JYP as a member of Wonder Girls in 2007. Left the group in 2010 to pursue an education at university. I think it was after she got her degree that she went back to JYP and debuted solo in 2013. And when Wonder Girls finally had a comeback in 2015 after a three year hiatus, she also joined back with her old group.
Wonder Girls disbanded in 2017, after which she left the company and since then she's been working as a soloist under smaller labels.
But even though she's not signed with JYP anymore, she's still on very good terms and even collaborated with JYP (the man, not the company) for his 2019 song When We Disco.
Plus SUNMI was diagnosed with Borderline personality disorder and that she is alright now because she takes meds it was diagnosed in 2015 ? Not sure on that but i am proud of her that she is doing alright :D
this is 14 mn of DG falling for sunmi, which is exactly what I need to happen so I can watch him react to all her other mvs cause she's one of my ult fav female soloists and all her concepts have that mystical/strange vibe and very interesting aesthetics which coupled with her beautiful voice, you can't help but be obsessed. I think Heart Burn is meant to be taken more literally than the normal usage of the phrase. In this context it seems to infer that when you fall for her. The intensity of your love will cause your heart to burn with such a fever that it kills you. Imagine having that sense of longing, for someone you love, that is so intense that it kills you. Then imagine being the target of that love... How could you settle for a lesser love after that?
I really like your thoughts about the music video. I too really amazed how unique the storyline of this MV. This is truly a Masterpiece ✨

I think your interpretation is spot on, as that is also how I understood this story. Watched a bunch of your reactions recently, but am usually too shy to comment. Will always make an effort for Sunmi though.
I have been a massive fan of Sunmi's sound ever since she debuted solo in 2013. That debut title track '24 Hours', remains my favourite K-pop song to this day. And her title track 'Tail' from last year was my most played song of 2021.
Her music has evolved over the years but it is always recognisably Sunmi, and her music videos are incredibly poetic and gorgeous (not to mention Sunmi is always gorgeous as well). Wonder Girls, her (sadly disbanded) group had some incredible music too, and their 2015 album, 'Reboot', was my album of that year.
Personally, I like your analytical style of reacting; it's a refreshing change from the swathe of reactors who only watch music videos for the visual aspect and overlook the fact that there are often great stories being told.

I read this comment on JREKML's reaction to this video (I'm gonna copy+paste it below) that for me made a lot of sense 🤔regarding the story that we see in the MV.
I really loved this song and the MV. I love the new perspective of a black widow character. Shes clearly broken up about it, then grows detached from whats happening, but still loved them and kept their pictures and prays while crying over them, but eventually comes to terms with her situation at least thats how i saw her dancing on the graves.

SUNMI is one of my favorite soloists for the female soloists her and CHUNGHA are my ultimate faves. SUNMI is just one of these idols I really love. She is amazing. The appreciation she has for LGBTQ+ is amazing as well. She has a dance Gashina in a version in which she dances with women and it is GREAT. AND YES SUNMI IS HOT AF :'D She is my background on my phone so yeah

Omggggg, this reminds me of a story I read called the "lady in red" where a woman becomes sick so her husband to get her back to life, he makes a deal with the devil so she can become a none mortal and & heal from her sickness but as a price everyone the woman loves including her husband and future lovers will die. And the woman lives in a heartbreak every time it happens...or should I say heartburn.
Eventually the devil shows himself to the woman and explains why everyone she loves is dying. The red lady, filled with hatred and desire for revenge, decides to make the devil fall in love with her, in Hope's that he will die as well...which happened.
The reason why I'm associating the two, is because sunmi is literally wearing red shades of clothes, and has a red hair + it's kinda the same curse.
