During the fight, he's Messmer the Mutterer. After the fight, he's Messmer the Speedy. That Godfrey fight was GREAT. It's kinda crazy that the Rennala fight lasted longer than the Starscourge Radahn fight. I almost wish he had more health (and that the meteor attack didn't do so much damage). Seeing Messmer's big snakes compared to Astel is a cool size comparison. Kinda shocked how well Astel did in the first half. Messmer throwing all those snakes at the end of the Maliketh fight was cool, like he was trying desperately to not die. Gideon being title "the All-Knowing" becomes much funnier when some random boss comes through, and he still opens with "Ah, I knew you'd come." Like, yeah Gideon, you definitely knew Messmer the Impaler was on his way. Uh huh. Sure man. Good vid. I think Base Serpent Messmer might be cooler outside of his arena than in it.
Godfrey doesn't have much of an advantage in terms of health, attack power, or mobility. Particularly, he has two extremely long transition phases. His only advantage is that he can easily break other bosses' poise. However, this advantage becomes insignificant against the relentless attacks of the DLC bosses. Poor Godfrey.
