  • The journey for Lauren Ward and Bertie Carvel in Matilda started in 2010 and ends tomorrow when they take their final bows for their respective roles as Miss Honey and Miss Trunchbull. However it's nearly impossible to imagine Matilda's success without the strong performances delivered by Lauren and Bertie. As they prepare to say goodbye to the roles they originated in the Stratford-Upon-Avon production, Stage Door Dish takes a deeper look at their involvement from conception to today with one of theatre's most magical new musicals that has swept up 47 awards combined.

    "Stratford upon Avon, England"...
As opposed to that Stratford upon Avon, Nigeria, presumably?

I think it's to distinguish from Stratford, Ontario, Canada, where there is a Shakespeare annual festival, and an 'Avon Theatre'.

You probably were seeing things because they actually left September 1st. Sophia left on December 21st, 2013. Unless if you saw them at the stage door, then that's cool.

The narrator's voice is like Sominex. Dreadful.

Ands the fact that she wont even play any of the interviews with the creative team that she is showing on screen and we just get her narration is just awful
