A lovely, gentle deck! I see the Poppy representing Opium (narcotics). And the cactus as 'keep going' despite the elements against you - there is water and hope within the cactus.
Love this deck! So happy to see your deep dive. The Empress plants include purple echinacea and yarrow- both healing herbs. I love seeing a sign of strength and guardianship represented in this card with the gorgeous raptor . I have had this deck for a couple of years, but I really value hearing your insights and your impressions. It is great to get to look at the deck I am familiar with though someone else's eyes. Grateful that we have this space too. 😊
This is my favourite tarot deck. Hugely intuitive, gentle, but you can't bypass the meaning, and the absence of people/gendering makes it so accessible, allowing the reader to intuit without established cultural tropes - 'spacious'. My favourite card is The Hierophant in this deck - so refreshingly different to the strict boundaries of structural learning/religion The Hierophant represents in RW themed tarot. The stones make it feel ancient, grounded, natural and awe inspiring without the heaviness of judgement. Just unshakable knowledge and wisdom. Love it.
I love this deck, it’s an amazing deck to use alongside a smith waite when learning the cards! The LWB with this deck is PERFECT, it really made tarot approachable and allowed me to finally unlock a deeper understanding beyond keywords. Great for journaling, too! I only have great things to say, I’m grateful that this deck came out the moment I started learning the cards
I literally did a full cross with the deck last night. It seems to be such a good deck when I’m doing any reflection that i don’t need a lot of other people reflected in.
When it comes to the wands, I really wish they would have gone with imagery of a camp fire, volcano, lightning hitting a tree and starting a fire, a forest fire, a large fire with seats symbolizing community celebrating. It could have been so much more 😭
Oooooh yay!!! I LOVE this deck AND the creators, too. I’m so glad they sent you a copy to share with your viewers/community! This deck has some of my all time favorite cards and I hope the creators will make more Oracle card/expansion packs in the future. To me, the art style really matches the theme of spaciousness, and I like the way you described it as quiet, slow, and contemplative. Totally agree. Okay, back to watching LOL.
Maybe I’ll just comment as I go :) As much as I love this deck, I am already seeing more in this deck than ever before thanks to your conversation about each card! I appreciate your insights very much!
Re: the creators being so cool to send you this deck after you anti-hauled it…this “realness” is one thing I’ve always loved about Carrie, and Annie is very much the same - humble, genuine, down to earth. Yes I’m a bit of a fangirl 😂
LISA! That reading was perfect and I claim it all. :) Also I recently did a big reading for myself and my first three cards were the 8, 9, and 10 of wands. I had to check the deck to make sure it was shuffled! (It WAS.) Love when that happens. 😊
One of my favorites. So cool to hear your thoughts on it. I loved the pippish minors for different reasons like a narrative I see in them but then it was so neat to hear your take too. ❤❤
I love The Spacious Tarot! It's my favourite deck I own! ☀️ And I also picked up the expansion deck and have a great time with it every time I pick it up!
I appreciate the fact that I get to go through a variety of decks with you and get your perspective. Whether it is a deck I have no intention of purchasing, one I am on the fence about, a deck I have already purchased and am excitedly waiting for or a treasured deck that I am familiar with… I always leave with a new perspective and added insight. The spacious tarot is a beloved one. I actually delayed getting the tarot of oneness for a lot longer than I otherwise would have because I wasn’t sure if they would compete. But because of your videos I realized that they each had a unique voice and I am quite thrilled to have both. The spacious tarot has some of my favorite depictions that really helped me feel certain cards on a visceral level rather than simply understanding intellectually. The Justice card is one of those. The ripple effect is powerful. My deck is edged in different shades of blue. I love the clamshell box and the tactile feel of the deck. It is a clear reader without any static noise. I always feel a sense of peace and connection with nature when I go through the images. So all those pentacle cards worked just fine and seemed very appropriate. Thank you for your enthusiasm and willingness to share with us. Thank you for giving special decks the time and space even when you initially antihaul them.
As usual, I really love your perspectives. I was really drawn to this deck and loved the idea of placing the reader as a character in a deck where no characters existed -- first hand experiencers. However, where it fails for me is the introduction of human or animal characters in the cards, the skeleton, the animals in the courts. The Emperor made perfect sense to me, not so much about the flower, but that he's the largest flower heads above others who fall in to regimented lines behind him -- his army. There's also the idea that the poppy represents fallen soldiers, and it is a pretty flower but also behind the creation of the drug opium, a drug of physiological and psychological dependence. I also see in the 4 of cups, the idea of pay attention carefully to all your cups because one second of attention lapse could lead to a cup falling into the rushing river and being lost (opportunities lost out on). Not to be sadistic, but I'd like to see Peggy challenged with reading this deck.
This is my favourite winter/December deck. It is good because it is warm, and it suits the warmth of Christmas to me. It is fun to see you diving into an oldie. I backed this one, and it is one of my personal decks. I feel very possessive of it. Something about it feels personal and intimate.
Thank you Lisa, Always great walking through the decks with you. I have this deck and used it more before I purchased the Oneness Tarot. But watching this today, reminders me to get it out more. As It really is an awesome deck. And I does give good clean reading like you gave today. I did want to point out that I always see the Eagle on the Empress Card as reminding me how the Empress is very protective of the environment and the people with in it. I think that card more then any other deck I own really brings the protection side of the Empress. The Empress bring is a very special energy to the reading when you see her. And this card in this deck, always pulls so many different meanings into my reading. Which is why I had to mention it. Terri From Australia
This has been one of my favorite decks ever since I got it in 2020 ♥️ Love your comments and observations throughout the deck - was hoping to hear more in-depth thoughts on the cards in the expansion as well
This was my second deck and is still one of my favorites! I find it pairs really well with a lot of different oracle decks too. I thought it was hard to read at first but felt pulled to keep trying and after a couple weeks everything clicked. It's so intuitive now and gives me great readings! It does tend to feel more wintery to me (probably because of the swords) so I tend to give it a break in the late spring and summer. Edit: I actually don't like Tarot of Oneness at all, so if anyone else doesn't like it don't let that deter you from trying this even though they're often compared.
I gasped when you bent the card, lol. Oops! I've done that too. This deck has been on my wishlist (as a meditation deck) for quite some time. I've got to finally get this deck soon.
This was my first tarot deck I ever bought and how you said in the beginning it feels like it slows things down and is calming is exactly how I feel using it. It’s really lovely for when my inner world is too much.
Thanks Lisa for another informative deck review. I love hearing your perspective on card meanings - the connections seem so obvious when you pick out certain symbols and read the image, something which I find can be difficult. The images in this deck have a uniformity/ a theme which I appreciate as well as the first person perspective. Just a side note, when you were talking about the 6 wands, I'd thought the wands look like a triumphal archway, supporting the theme of victory. The uniform placement of the 6 evoked the idea of teamwork, without a team, victory cannot be assured.
I neeeeed this deck !!! ❤❤ And yes, Lisa, this deck does slows you down or calms you down 😅 I m french at ease with English language but I can sense your speech speed went for a nice cruise this time 😂 thank you so much for this walk through 🙏
I have this deck, I love this deck BUT viewers should know that you cannot riffle shuffle this deck easily with the expansion added. I love that the creator took inanimate objects and portrayed them to have so much feeling (e.g. swords).
Estava com dúvidas sobre comprar esse deck e depois que assisti esse vídeo me decidi por que comprar, pois sua fala é tão elucidante que me entusiasmou... Gratidão 🌹
23:49 Well, even Mary-El has this card as the raven stealing the sun. I also see Prometheus stealing the fire, or possibly Pandora opening her box (dubiıus). The card to me carries the positive and negative aspects of an irreversible act of rebellion, at least implied esoterically.
I would love to see a video of how you come up with these explainations of the cards. If it were me I'd just be staring trying to make sense of it. I know tarot but all these different decks confuse me at times.
Hey Lisa! I saw this Jack on Simmons channel and I thought it was just so cool and I got it I little over a year ago. I love it so much but it is in practice it’s a little more difficult than I thought it would be. It’s not so well known to those not in the tarot community, which made it so surprising to find this is already been counterfeited :-/
This is one I have never picked up, thinking it too simplistic. I'm not sure I got the Lovers card, how it's something from your perspective because it just seems like two entwined strands. The Two of Wands made me think of rubbing two sticks together to create fire, which then erupts in the three. It seems like the 'my perspective' approach disappears in the pip and court cards though; for example, the 8 of swords where the swords surround the tree, but not me and the courts have creatures who represent each court member. (And the Three of Pentacles has a typo). Thanks for all your insights on this one, but I think the Tarot of Oneness does it better!
Doesn't the Three of Pentacles mispelling drive anyone else crazy? It totally takes me out of myself when it comes up. It honestly limits the time I spend with the deck. I really wish the author would reprint the deck or even just sell us 1 dollar replacement cards with the correct spelling.
the empress contrast w/ emperor= natural wild flower field / cultivated, straight rows of poppies.
Got this deck 2 years ago! So intuitive and fits every level of expertise!

Oh thank you for the echinacea/yarrow references!!! :)

The Emperor card is profound, it’s my favorite depiction of the card!
I literally did a full cross with the deck last night. It seems to be such a good deck when I’m doing any reflection that i don’t need a lot of other people reflected in.
oh in a cross this would be so lovely and uncluttered! :)
It does have a great flow to it!

Oooooh would love to hear more about your narrative view of them!
Yes, A Cups, beam of light. This was a beautiful. I love the supplement. I didn't know there was one. I'm definitely adding it on.
Love this deck it's very, intuitive, nurturing, calming, and big hug 🤗 As kids we called the Maple Seed Helicopters !

I totally agree with your perspective on the poppy-emperor!
One of my favorite decks! I've been using the expansion pack as part of my Decan Walk space.

Wow. This deck is absolutely stunning!!
Simply divine.
The expansion is fun. I can't believe I never noticed the mistype on 3 of pentacles 😂😮
Someone posted about that in my fb group - I didn't notice it at all but it sounds like that's been corrected now! :)
@@Lisa_Papez yeah I was on that thread too. I just got mine in Feb and it's supposed to be fixed and mine isn't 😭
What amazing cards ! Thanks for the deep dive ! ✌️

Would have gotten this deck but Tarot of Oneness totally blew my mind.
Great job! Thank you!

Yes! Order should be wands, cups, swords, and pentacles.

Roots and wings
The illuminated earth
The faceted garden
