      You have obviously never seen Pebble Beach, or Augusta, or Torry Pines. Flat sand and dinky dunes aren't really much of a challenge....except to people who miniature golf scary.

    No matter who's name is attached to the course (or the shocking way his company treated the locals), Trump International has to be one of best courses in Europe, never mind Britain!!

      I have played some high end courses and I suspect Pebble Beach would blow me away . We have a local course here designed by Hale Irwin ( the Jewell ) in Minnesota that is leaps and bounds above the other local venues but I suspect it would fall short of Pebble Beach. I know for sure I couldnt afford the tee times at Pebble beach ....lol

    I must say, it looks magnificent. I will say, I would never play a course that has any association with its developer. There are scores of wonderful courses in Scotland that will serve me quite well.

  • @jenniferfranklin9382
    @jenniferfranklin9382 ปีที่แล้ว

    To the video team. Don’t cut between two angles with the same framing - it’s jarring and amatuer. Wide to mid or mcu to mid would work well here. Cutting between two medium long shots just exacerbates the differences in the different cameras being used to shoot the piece to camera. IMO, the second cam has the better angle and should be cam 1. Cam 2 should be on either a close up or a wide, off centre to allow the grammar you are looking for without the technical inconsistency.

      Here's a course that fat boy couldn't get past 9 holes on . It's in northern California, off Hiway 50 between Placerville and Pollock Pines. What make it an exceptionally tough course is the altitude changes.....between the T's and the greens, and the fairways in between. For instance the altitude at the first T is 2737 ft. at the green it's 2630ft. That's a little over the height of a 10 story building. Here's a link to their web site and there is a page with video fly overs of every hole. Carry lots of range balls. Everywhere out of bounds is populated with poison oak, which, if you've never had it, you REALLY don't want it. It's a beautiful course, but be prepared to have your ego challenged.

    I hear the place is losing a lot of money and will likely go the way of the Trump Plaza Casino. Besides all the bad publicity he got for paying off officials to ignore environmental laws and bulldoze out local families who have lived there for centuries Scotland is not the best place to sink tons of money into a big fancy golf course in my opinion. Florida, the Caribbean or Hawaii yes but not Scotland. The weather is typically cold, cloudy and windy, not the best climate for outdoor activities. Some people like this kind of environment but most would prefer palm trees and a warm breeze to a cold rainy wind. Scotland may be a great place to explore ancient haunted sites but not the best place for golf resort.

      @Peter Grandahl - a valid opinion well argued! The alternative view would be that this form of the game is the most exhilarating/exciting. The Trump site is nothing short of spectacular and is a completely different challenge to anything you'll find in Florida. It's a bit like comparing apples and pears

      Peter Grandahl well you don’t know much do you...I’ve played golf in Scotland twice , from Australia,, 1987 & 2005 and it’s great to play golf at 10:30 pm...still daylight in summer...you won’t get that among your palm trees

    Just saw the plaque at the 6 minute mark "6 Star Diamond Award". If you google it you will see it's not an authentic award, but a for-profit organisation for which Donald Trump has special interests in. Of note with this review is any outside influence to say that this course is better than it is. Anyone that knows this course knows that Donald Trump is hated in Scotland and the deal to get this course built wasn't done ethically.
