    Definitely more focussed on planes/quads but very good concept and design. Crash detection isn't much use on a RC truck lol. I like the theft alarm.

    It's much more humorous to watch when you include Sophie. Then we get to watch you play hide and seek. Thanks for showing us all of the alternative beeping devices.

      Teenage Sophie is more about lazing around in bed all day. I will force her into helping me as she's off for another few weeks yet :D

    excellent ! I will be adding these to my kwad kit, a must have. once you have lost a ($300) kwad it is too late ! DONT BE TOO LATE !! EVERY FPV PILOT should have these as an integral part of their tools !! There might be another new innovation coming out from ViFly to help find your investment ! Standby ….

    I plumped for a Dronekeeper Mini 2 after one of your previous (excellent) videos and I'm well pleased with it. This adds the impact and anti-theft features, but I prefer the setting options for times and the charging option on the Dronekeeper. Nice to have the choice though, and this one is a bit cheaper. Our grass is longer than yours too!

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I really like the DroneKeeper stuff, and their setup commands make a lot of sense. The only problem with Nichemall seemed to be the shipping cost, so at least there's a cheaper option. Hopefully people will fit something and not lose their precious toys :)

    Great video, thanks for the very informative instructions. I’ve just ordered a VIFLY Beacon and down-loaded the ‘user manual’ beforehand, which is very confusing! Your video explained its use a lot better. As you say don’t think it’s needed for the DJI Drones as they have 'Find my Drone' on the App, but will be excellent for my Parrot DISCO, hope I don’t need it thought!
    Thanks again.

      Always worth an extra insurance policy. Even if you never use it, knowing you've got some backup can take some of the stress off flying in risky places

  • @MCsCreations

    Really interesting little device, Wayne! 😊
    But I guess I still prefer the other version, the one you wire into your quad. 😊

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wired in is certainly more convenient, but it's useful when you don't want to buy another 20 of them to fit out all your other quads. ViFly might just be coming up with something that can kind of do both

    I bought one of these i have a X450 drone thats very light and drifts in wind but "love them" -i also have a walkera 250 gps quad thats terrible to fly "not stable" but has one of these buzzers built in so when you switch off the tranny it will beep just wish it would fly better but as far as i know this is the only racing quad with this feature .

  • @stevefox3763
    @stevefox3763 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    what i find interesting is the beeps that come out of these units are louder if then reflect off a hard surface than if the output is pointing straight at you.

  • @Rich-TeaFPV
    @Rich-TeaFPV 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Interesting, the fact you charge this separately is useful for swapping between models 👍👍

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I like that... especially if I have a lot of quads. It's not as convenient as just having one wired in of course, but it's cheap and you soon get into a habit of turning them on for every flight

  • @Dav2112

    I really should invest in some of these self powered buzzers for my quads, I’ve only got one build in my fleet that has a regular buzzer, but it’s really quiet, using Dshot commands makes a louder noise than the one buzzer I have!!!

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a terrible buzzer if dshot is louder ! Definitely have something though, it's a pain when that battery ejects and you've got no clue of where it went down

    Great video! It’s been three years now, what is your opinion on this particular beeper? Is it still a good one to get or are there better options now available?

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I still have a few of them in my quads and they are pretty good - most of the beepers went down quite a similar design and functionality, so there's not that much difference between them. Sometimes the things you don't expect are the ones that make it easier to use - like being able to disable it easily.

    My first thought is all the ways I could use this NOT on a drone. This is literally the most promising "annoy-a-tron" ever made.

    I have a had few crashes with battery eject, but I have been lucky and found everything.
    I have been considering a self powered beeper. I also have been looking at blue tooth trackers like the tile mate @ 7grams and 50 meter range.
    Not sure which is better for lost drones. any thoughts on that

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Whilst I haven't tested one myself, I've seen bluetooth trackers in action, and 50m sounds like a best scenario in perfect line of sight scenario as in grass etc the range goes way down. I tried a product called the Loc8tor (which was 2.4Ghz and actually was supposed to have more range) and it's fine if you are within range - but long grass, or anything blocking it and the range dropped way down to 20-30m. A loud beeping noise and you will start picking it up from up to around 100m away (if you have young ears)

    • @marklee4409
      @marklee4409 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea range was my worry. Most the time simple is better. I think I will get a beeper. Unfortunately my ears are pretty old, so I may not get a 100m :-)
      I like your channel and have a lot of gear you recommend. Thanks!

    How would you rate this compared to the Buzzibee?

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Which is the BuzzyBee, or do you mean the tBeacon BuzzyBo ? In which case, I like the features and better setup options of the BuzzyBo more, but I don't like the fact that it's missing a USB port - meaning I need to have pin-headers installed all the time.

    • @Duncanlovett
      @Duncanlovett 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I meant the BuzzyBee, I bought one after your video on it and although it's never been needed it works very well when testing or just forgetting to turn it off on landing.

    Please review the new iFlight XL5 V4 frame

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tend not to do too many individual components (aside from cameras) as the build process is too long and I can't get as much done. I have just got the iFlight Nazgul5 RTF quad in. It doesn't state what the frame is, but it seems to look very similar to the XL5

    • @subaehaitham
      @subaehaitham 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CurryKitten Yes I think the Nazgul5 is using the exact same XL5 V4 frame.
      If it's possible for you to kindly make a review for this particular quad with the measurements of the dimensions especially for the top plate because I am concerned about where to place my GPS module "not on the arms", and also the dimension of the 4 screw holes that are used for fixing the GoPro Mount.
      I would be very thankful.... and thank you for the helpful/ amazing videos and reviews.

    Not a bad product, but the constant beeping and the increased beeping after the model has been picked up is just too annoying. Hopefully they’ll rethink those “features”.

    • @CurryKitten
      @CurryKitten  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some people will like it, some people won't. What I'd ask for is the ability to turn things on/off and put the delay between crashing beeping etc in your control
