    I am getting better at hoof trimming thanks to you Jason! You are a very patient person and the doe on the stand is very good too.

    The care and attention to your flock has impressed me the most.
    I've been very delicate to the ones I own and the sound of a grinder will set most of too bolt.

    I trimmed 9 goats for a lady a week ago and that's when I said "That's it, I need the hoof boss!" I mentioned you as a reference 😁

    If You don't use a special hoof trimming disc you should use a 12 grit sanding disc.

    , I bought a Ryobi cutting tool and some 3" 60 grit sanding discs as well as a 3/8" hole punch to punch out the center of the discs. About $120 all told. Will see how it works.

      Sure.
      Works out perfectly.
      Still doing some of it with the shears then follow up with the grinder.
      I'd say the heavier the grit the better.
      Doesn't seem to bother them.

    Trying to see if we should just use our angle grinder or purchase one made especially for livestock. It’s much more money .

    The real question not answered is the angle grinder can be used for other things besides hooves. So the question not answered is whether the Hoof Boss is more than just superior. Is it head and shoulders superior over the angle grinder? If it is clearly superior but only marginally to better, you might do better with the angle grinder or a similar tool on a battery powered Dremel. Besides if you were keeping up with your hoof trimming an angle grinder and its ability to do other functions may put it in a superior category.

      Had a grinder and Dremel I say it’s way better yes I have a grinder on the farm but would you like to hold something for 3-4 hours that weighs 1lb or 3lbs me 1lb. If you have 10 goats use your grinder we trim ever 3-4 months to me the hoof boss is superior I know people will disagree with me but with the chain disk it’s way faster and a way better job

    Don't that grinder heat's up. N can hurt the 🐐???

    • @LetsTalkGoats
      @LetsTalkGoats  ปีที่แล้ว

      No it doesn’t and you would have to hold it on there super hard to heat up enough to hurt them.

    A rasp is cheaper and quicker. Quick trim with snips, finish off with the rasp.

      I like a farrier rasp better too but last time I went back to it for a faster trim it set off my shoulder injury for a week
